Will this Ryobi Router (model RE180PL1G) fit the Ryobi Router Table (model A25RT02G)?
Asked by: Terry
Don't ask thr Ryobi helpline or the people at Home Depot, they will tell you the table will not work and the standard bits are too short to use with the table. The help line guy at Ryobi said we hear that alot.

When this router is mounted to a router table, is the height adjustable from the top of the table? This will be mounted to the Ryobi table.
Asked by: Blachlock
Thank you for your question. The adjustment would be from the bottom.

I've had this router for about a year now and have used it for routing table tops for about 15 projects. PROS: Great price. The handles are really nice and make the routing smooth. The soft-start is nice - eliminating that jerking motion hard-start motor do. It's beefy and sturdy, with plenty of power. CONS: Maybe it's my particular Ryobi router but the plunge is not smooth at all. I cannot push it down with the handles. I need to push it down from the top. The bed is really small, making it tip fairly easily at times. The plunge lock loosens frequently. I gave up on it and just the depth and lock it with the nut. Mixed thoughts about the on/off switch. I prefer a trigger type switch for safety reasons. I did drop it once while it was running and fortunately the running bit didn't drive into my foot! But it survived the drop, even while running. There is no dust port so be ready for a huge mess. If you are on a tight budget this is an okay entry level router. Just always keep safety in mind!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for the diy'ers and beginning wood workers. (Video included) I've never owned a router, but they always seemed like a great tool to have around the house for not only installation of door hinges and lock, but for larger jobs like cabinet building and molding. I was not sure if I wanted a plunge or fixed base router, and I was not willing to spend $400 for two different name brand styles. I seen this a noticed that it had the best 3st of both worlds for a smaller price, so I decided to give it a shot. At first, I was worried that 8 would not be able to figure it out, but within 20 minutes, I felt like a pro using this. It was extremely easy to use, and all the adjustments were easy to make. The router is actually very powerful, and the speed can be adjusted from high to low for different types of wood. As for the router bits, it takes 1/2' and also has an adapter for 1/4' which makes this router very versatile. They give you a wrench, and makes but changes very fast and easy. It's also comfortable in the hands but does feel a bit bulky. the plunge action is very smooth, but like some others had mentioned, the locking mechanism does get a bit lose after using it for a while. There is however a screw that can be tightened in the back that will help snug it up. All in all, I have used this to cut holes in bi-metal doors, signed and some molding, and I am extremely happy with it. Once I get my skills sharpened, I will probably spend more for a more professional router, but until then, I'm happy with this.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from fell apart Used this router 1 other time on a small project, worked fine. Pulled it out to do another and the depth lever broke, collet literally spun out of the machine, and bit jammed in collet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it!1 I was working on a project that required production level use notching 4x4's for a handrail. I have one little BOSCH fixed base, I bought one of of these Ryobi plunge base models and borrowed an older model Rockwell fixed base. Of the three, I loved the RYOBI! The BOSCH was a little too light for the work, and the Rockwell scared the heck out of me because it was too hard to control. So I went back and bought another RYOBI RE180PLG1! I was using templates for most of the work and the RYOBI worked beautifully! It was smooth, easy to control, and the adjustment features made it a breeze to cut to the perfect depth every time. I've read some bad reviews here, but I have no complaints. You must use the appropriate speed setting for the bit otherwise you get some vibration and chattering. I did notice that one of the two units seemed a bit more "torquey" than the other, but I have not one complaint.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't beat the price I am still in the process of learning how to use routers and all the accessories around them. This router feels sturdy and compact, but light weight and really easy to set up. It was great to acknowledge that it was listed within the routers able to fit the bosch 1181 router table I also purchased. I find it perfect for a beginner like me.

I called Ryobi and found out that Ryobi doesn't make any accessories for this router. IT'S going back tomorrow. So this was a complete waste of time!
