Rated 1 out of 5 BAD HEDGE TRIMMER
I purchased this Ryobi hedge trimmer last August.
I have used it a total of 5 times only. It became very difficult to start up.
The major design flaw with this hedge trimmer is
a very poorly designed carburetor, It is held on with only 2
The vibration produced by pulling the starter cord causes
the Torx screws to loosen up. The carburetor hangs loose off
the engine causing gasoline to leak out. This produces the
no start condition.
Do not buy this hedge trimmer . Save your money.
I replaced it with the Echo HC-150SP. The Echo HC-150SP works great. The Echo HC150SP build quality is excellent.
Home-Depot sells the Echo Model: HC150SP | Store SKU: 1000428340

Rated 1 out of 5Â by Todd this is a piece of junk
this is my third hedge trimmer. Keep buying them because I have the attachments. I had one repaired and now it still doesn't work. It's replacement now too doesn't work. The vibration causes the spark plug connector to fall off despite many attempts to keep it tightened. This newest one I bought has lasted less than a year. It just died. Now I have two pieces of junk and a numerous attachments which are useless. This product is cheaply made and cannot take heavy use. It's carburetor is cheap and you will have problems trying to start. Save your money and invest in a better made product.

Used it 7 times and the engine locked up. Ryobi customer service told me to take to Home Depot since they are an authorized repair center. 5 weeks later Home Depot calls and tells me that it is my fault since it wasn't lubricated correctly!
I used the correct gas to oil mix for all 7 times I used it.
I call Ryobi and they said if HD said you broke it then it is on you.
I will NEVER by a Ryobi product again.

Worst purchase ever! Took at least 30 pulls before it started right out of the box. Can't even start it for the second time just two weeks after the first use. Really, just an expensive piece of junk!

No air cleaner or filter? You have to be kidding. Hedge trimmers work in a dusty chip and leaf filled environment and without a filter the carb needs to be disassembled and cleaned on a regular basis or the thing won't start. Even with synthetic $8 a pint fuel the trimmer is not an easy start. If you need one for occasional use rent it, if you use it weekly buy a Red Max
