Answer:
Hello Ed! This does not have a fuel shut off valve. It is recommended that when storing for 1 month or longer that you drain all fuel from tank into a container approved for gasoline. Run engine until it stops. Thanks for your inquiry!

Customer Reviews

Rated 2.2 out of 5 by 87 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst purchase ever This worked for one season, but now won't run longer than a few seconds and the engine overheats. Do not buy this piece of junk. October 2, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing Has nice features such as adjustable handle and an Off switch that automatically resets to the On position for the next time you need to start it up. Ran good the first season but the second season could not keep it running. Clearly a carburetor issue from not completely draining the fuel over the winter thus a user error. Nevertheless, a bit temperamental since I'm guilty of not draining other equipment on the farm without that being an issue. The good news you can get a replacement carburetor for less than $8. Will give it a go. August 23, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Don't wast your money... seriously!! Fault fuel and carburetor system. Was fine for three uses, then starts but bogs down when trying to throttle. $50.00 replacement carb, plug, ignition switch, still a won't run. Worst $200.00 bucks I ever spent. August 28, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by absolute junk Ran 1 season residential use trimming landscape around house. Next year wouldn't start and spent over half the cost of unit in replacement of faulty ignition coil and service to get it running.. ran 1 season of the same type of light work..next season wouldn't start again...shame on Ryobi...Don't waist your money...I would give it 0 stars if possible...totally unreliable August 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great price came pre-assembled, remember 50-1 ratio gas. very easy to start, ran perfect. a little heavy, but well balanced. for the price, it's well worth it. all of the rest I looked at were over the $230.00 mark August 30, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Didn't work for me This tool was a real disappointment. The blades are flexible and will bend easily causing too much friction and stalls the engine. They can be straightened but I don't have time for that. The engine recently became hard to start so I went through the normal maintenance procedures, (spark plug, air filter, new gas, etc.) with no improvement. I decided to replaced the carburetor and that didn't help. I think I'm throwing good money at bad. Do yourself a favor and pay the extra $100 for the echo June 29, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dont buy one of these! I wish there was a score below zero. Bought one not long ago, to replace a trimmer maybe 10 years old, used the new Ryobi about 6 times with headaches each time and the final three times total deterioration. Constant problems. I quit today in mid job to throw that piece of junk away, like a thorn out of my side. I'm 64 years old and this is by far the worst trimmer, and worst 2-stroke tool I've ever purchased. Hard to start. Bogs down . Stalls. Leaks. Jams up on little twigs. And I wish I had noticed how poorly made. No---not merely the wrong gas. Might as well have flushed away that money. Going out tonight or tomorrow to buy a trimmer that actually works. The Ryobi might be budget-priced, but its value is zero. June 18, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Trimmers were disappointing Trimmer worked fine the first time I used them. A couple of days later I started them and after one bush they died. Home Depot replaced them and I finished my yard. Next month trimmed again same results. Home Depot again gave me store credit this time and I upgraded to The Echo. Bad product good service at my local store. July 18, 2016
