Questions & Answers

The specs show 3 year warranty but the warranty from Homelite show 2 years. Which is correct?

Asked by: etp1280
Thank you for asking, Etp1280. The warranty on this pressure washer is 3 years from the date of purchase. Our warranty covers for repairs of manufacturing defects. However, the Honda engine carries a 2 year warranty. I hope this helps and we appreciate your interest in Ryobi! -Keri

How many gallons of gas does the tank hold?

Asked by: Djinn
Enough to last about 40 minutes +/- of continuous use. Not terrible, but would be helpful if the tank were large enough to give 60-90 minutes of run time.

Will this remove paint from concrete?

I need to clean off the concrete from my swimming pool and would like to pressure wash it. Is it possible and what kind of tips are recommended? Thanks, Matt
Asked by: Lane
Rotating turbo nozzle will work. However, be wary of your standoff as it can also remove concrete. I would use some type of non-volatile stripper and clean it off with the pressure washer.

What is it hard to pull the cable to start the power washer? I just bought it..

Asked by: Bianca
Thank you, Bianca. If you are having difficulties starting this pressure washer, please bring it in to an authorized service center for a proper diagnosis. But before you do, please try pulling the trigger to release some of the built up pressure and see if that works.

3100-PSI 2.5-GPM Honda Gas Pressure Washer with Idle Down is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 867.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Little Bad Boy Bought the machine to do some work around the house and love it. Has great power, good idle down, & great cutting power. We recommend getting a turbo nozzle with the machine to increase performance. The only draw back is the short hose that it can with. Its easy to use & worth the extra money.

When we opened the box to find there is very little preparation and assembly required, we were pleasantly surprised. Then we went to grab the instructions, there wasn't any, I went to grab the included oil to pour into the washer, there wasn't any, the nozzle, and hose holder hardware were all missing. The box was sealed and stapled when we had brought it home. So I drove back into town to our Home Depot in Great Falls, Mt, and showed my receipt. They smiled, opened another box and gave us what we needed! When I got home and finished the assembly, less than 5 min, I put gas and oil in,hooked up water, and with one pull, started it. It works great. If I had one suggestion, it would be, they need to add a holder for individual nozzles.

I got a replacement and it worked ok, except the handle always leaks and you get soaking wet while using it. Now, this one has the engine locking up and Home Depot said they could send it out to be repaired, but it would be 6-8 weeks. I paid for a washer to have during spring cleanup and it will be June before I get it back. I kept the oil level correct, so I know it's not that.

Requirements for non-ethanol fuel and need for fuel stabilizer could be a bit clearer; several trips back to the store needed in my case. (I'm not much of a motorhead!).

The unit has the power to take care of most jobs that you could need it for, however, it is cheaply made and issues will arise. The manufacture warranty is actually pretty good however so expect this machine to give you three years of work with multiple bandaids placed on it in between (which isn't terrible for the $400 price point). I WOULD NOT however recommend purchasing the HomeDepot Consumer Protection plan on the product. The Plan is an absolute scam and will require you get repairs done at facilities hours from the location of purchase when the cheap machine does what cheap machines do and breaks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pressure I owned a Ryobi Model RY80030 gasoline 3100 PSI washer with the Subaru engine for years. It has always had 1 pull start. I went to fire it up on 07/09/2017, it started and ran extremely well until I ran out of fuel. I refilled it and then had trouble starting it. I went and bought the equivalent but, with the Honda engine...it was doing a just as well if not better stucco removal job as my previous washer. The old washer was just binding due to the mounting bolts falling off of the base plate. I purchased the bolts/locknuts, new gun, hose, and tips and gave it to a family who is tight on cash. It, too, is now running strong again. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Where others reviewers have had trouble with engine performance, carb or idle, i've had none of that. I do have issues with an overall poor design, though. First, the water ports are located at the rear bottom of the unit, which makes accessing them very difficult. and the handle is cantilevered out over the engine, which is very odd. and coupling the water port locations with the odd handle, it makes it virtually impossible to tip the unit backwards and move it while water lines are hooked-up. Also, the fuel tank is in a really awkward position (who has a funnel close by when you're in the middle of a wash job?) and makes spills almost guaranteed. Not a great experience.

It has the Soap Dispenser which I like and seems to have plenty of power & pressure for washing driveway, etc. It is a little "rocky" when you first start it, but that could be because it is new. We have only had it a couple of weeks, and have used it twice. It does meet out expectations just fine.
