on this 3100-psi model, where do you ad the pump protector to?

Thank you, Ekim. The pump protector would go in at the same place that your garden hose would hook in to. The directions for use is usually printed on the pump protector container.

Customer Reviews

3,100 psi 2.5 GPM 212cc Gas Pressure Washer with Idle Down is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 59.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worked for 2 hours and stopped. Purchased this unit to clean my deck. When I opened the box, the bin that holds the soap at the bottom of the unit was partially broke (its attached at both legs of the unit and one was broken). I followed the instructions carefully (good instructions that came with it, very easy setup) and the unit stopped working after 2 hours. The engine would start up good but once you squeeze the handle the unit would stall out. Spoke with Ryobi customer service and they stated that I should return it since the purchase was only 3 days old. I was a little hesitant purchasing this model but with the Memorial day sale I figured to give it a try. Maybe it was just my unit that was bad but good luck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent so far There was no assembly aside from sliding the handles in place. This was my first gas power washer and there us a lot of maintenance to them and not just this model. Always use treated gas, run it dry on each use. Also use pump protector after every use. Store indoors was another thing you should do if you live in colder climates. Aside from the normal maintenance, the pump has a lot of power to do the job. Took the mold off the house with the help of Zep detergent I also bought. I plan on washing the boat and car soon. I like the fact that it has an on board soap dispenser that automatically does the 20 to 1 ratio.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A Few Parts Shy of a Great Product This Ryobi model has a great automatic idle-down feature that reduces noise, improves fuel efficiency, and avoids repeated re-starts when being used intermittently (it idles-down when the trigger is released.) It’s has tough-on-grit high-pressure and gpm ratings; a comprehensive owners’ manual; a long, sturdy, well-balanced wand; a nice design for winding and storing the pressure hose; and very simple out-of-the-box assembly. BUT it also has an unfamiliar and noisier-than-expected OEM engine; 4- interchangeable nozzles with a quick-connect on the end of the wand (vs. an adjustable-wand design); exposed starter wires that make the unit look oddly vulnerable; and an under-designed soft-rubber front foot secured by a single screw. The 25-ft hose seems a little short (had to move the unit while washing the car) and the gas tank would be better if it were translucent (a visual for fuel left-in-tank.) However, you DO get a good run-time with this 2/3 gal fuel tank. During our first use, engine vibrations made the unit “walk” on the less-than-beefy front foot, caused the front-foot screw to back itself out, and etched a long path on our driveway while we weren’t looking….good thing it wasn’t our wood deck! (really needs a sturdier front foot with at least 2 screws.) While idling, the engine cut-out twice while we moved it, requiring 2 re-starts (never happens with the Honda engine on our old power-washer.) The pressure hose is sturdy but stiff (vs. Ryobi’s un-kinkable “Power-Flex” design.) In short, it’s a high-quality unit with some not-ready-for-prime-time parts. Note: the HD “specifications” lists the fuel tank capacity as .96 gal. It’s actually .66 gal.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Required work I picked item up at Home Depot, when I opened the box oil was everywhere. The oil cap was off and oil spilled from the engine. The engine mount was only bolted on one side. The air filter cover was broken. The handle was bent and the manual was ruined because of the oil everywhere. I spent about an hour cleaning and about another hour fixing all the problems. The pressure washer works great but Home Depot dropped the ball on the selling/delivery process.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy or waist your time Bought this online and it came in with a busted pump that was clearly a used part. Still had someone's engraving on it. Online support wanted to argue and didn't want to reimburse or do an exchange. They wanted me to pay additional money out of my pocket and order another one online and wait another week or two as well as wait for a credit (I paid with gift cards). I took it in the next morning to Home Depot in Irving and requested to speak to the manager or assistant manager. His name was John and he is the assistant manager there at that store. He did an even exchange for another power washer in the store that was $100 more and I was in and out of the store in 10 minutes. Online support was not very helpful but the assistant manager John was a huge help. If this ever happens to anyone that orders anything online my suggestion is to go into the store and speak with someone that has high authority over everyone. Online support was no help.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very user friendly residential grade pressure washer Out of the box it is very easy to assemble. It just requires a few parts to snap on. Performance: It has plenty of power and with an assortment of tips you can taylor your pattern to your job. The "Idle Down" feature is nice so save fuel and reduce noise when you're moving the unit or have a delay in washing. The engine noise is louder than I expected. However, it is a well powered 212 cc engine. If noise is a deciding factor for you splurge for the Ryobi with the Honda engine. The engine also vibrated quite a bit. The unit is very light which is nice for moving around, however it can sometimes move around on you. Because historically people aren't watching the unit when they they stretch the hose there is an automatic shut off when it is tilted to prevent damage to the engine. However, it is very sensitive and if you tilt it back too much when relocating it while running it will shut off. Not a deal breaker, but something to be aware of. The oil is pre measured and includes a funnel. The unit is very light and easy to move around with the big wheels. The gas cap is easy to grab ahold of and screw in. It is labeled everywhere and has instructions on everything. Theres no guessing involved. The hose storage system is great. Easy to coil and has a band to keep it in place. The tips are easily stored and labeled on the handle. The electrical system leave some room for improvement. It is all exposed which may lead to problems in the future. Overall I think it is a good residential unit for someone who has the routine summer maintenance for their property.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better to buy in store. I gave this item 4 stars because the first one showed up at my door on time but broken. The next one showed up a day early (witch was nice) and broken as well, both times the pump or parts on the pump were broken. In my opinion it was not the products falt. I believe it was caused buy shipping company. As for the pressure washer it works very well so far I've ran 2 tanks of fuel through it. I was able to fix the second one at home. The idle down feature started to get a little sticky oiled the cable and works as it should. My other complaint is the pump is vulnerable and its design is off balance try to start it one Handed. The motor runs well and is easy to start. All in all I would purchase product again.
