I have used this drill with much success. The features on this drill are numerous, including the keyless chuck, the level and the adjustable clutch. I really think it's powerful enough for all but most heavy duty, contractor style tasks. It is fairly light weight too, which is important if you are going to be drilling for long periods of time. Heavier drills, like all things, are harder for most regular, non-contractor like people to hold and balance.
The level on the Ryobi drill has allowed me to balance the drill easily, which makes drilling much more efficient.
If you look at the competition, which sell drills for $20 to $50 more than this drill, you still get the same plastic pieces, instead of metal. You really need to go into a whole new price range to get a quality, heavy duty drill. The competitor drills all seem to be much heavier and lack many of the features that the Ryobi drill has on it. Make sure that you compare these features before buying a drill.
The only thing that I would have added to this drill is an LED light, however, most of the completion in the price range that I mentioned above do not have LED lights either. My Black and Decker cordless drill, however, does have an LED light. Ryobi may want to consider this for its future drills.
One more thing. I like that this drill has a power cord. There is nothing worse than having the battery run out on a cordless drill and having nothing else to drill with. If you are only going to have one drill, get a corded one. Also, Lithium batteries all die eventually. They are expensive to replace.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Twist good for the money
This being my second Ryobi drill as my first one crapped out on me after heavy usuage over the last 10 years. I went with a corded drill again because i hate the idea of power loss, my father owns a makita cordless drill and it dies on me more than i care for. Its funny because he always borrows my drill but its a good drill for 40 dollargrip is comfortable, powerful and easily screws 3" decking screws with out hesitation. The only con I have bout this drill is that just like my last ryobi the bits sometimes slip but thats the con of any keyless chuck.
Overall I love Ryobi wood working products I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a dependable drill with a price that wont hurt the walet.

Finally a corded drill which is ergonomic and good for screws. I have another corded drill with the handle all the way on the back of the unit which makes it front heavy. I loved the balanced feel of battery powered drills, but never liked the idea of leaving a battery charging all of the time since I only use a drill occasionally (maybe once every month or two). This drill has great balance and a sensitive trigger which seems good for screws.
The only thing I'm not super fond of is the fabric case with a zipper, however this is my first drill to have this and I imagine it's just a matter of getting used to. I have a metal case from an old Makita drill that I may move this Ryobi into.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dave Why has no one thought of this before...?
Electric drill/driver with a clutch...why is did no one think of this before? It drives 2 and 3" deck screws with ease + the clutch is easy to set. The grip perfectly fits my hand. The weight is about the same as a battery drill and because its corded...it never runs out of juice. This is my frustration with the battery tools I own. I have purchased several Ryobi tools over the years...my oldest ones are over 20 years old. As a DIY person and a wood shop teacher, the Ryobi brand/quality has served me well.

110 volt drills with a clutch are hard to find.
odd, when you consider every battery drill made has a clutch.
at just under $40.00 the price makes this average quality drill a good buy.
saying average quality when you compare it to an American product like Milwaukee.
however, I've used the Ryobi drills for years, and even I you use it for a season, and throw it out, it has paid for itself.
personally i'd pay 2 or 3 times as much for a good American drill with a clutch , if I could find one.
then i'd have a tool for life.
