This Ryobi model has a great automatic idle-down feature that reduces noise, improves fuel efficiency, and avoids repeated re-starts when being used intermittently (it idles-down when the trigger is released.) Itâs has tough-on-grit high-pressure and gpm ratings; a comprehensive ownersâ manual; a long, sturdy, well-balanced wand; a nice design for winding and storing the pressure hose; and very simple out-of-the-box assembly. BUT it also has an unfamiliar and noisier-than-expected OEM engine; 4- interchangeable nozzles with a quick-connect on the end of the wand (vs. an adjustable-wand design); exposed starter wires that make the unit look oddly vulnerable; and an under-designed soft-rubber front foot secured by a single screw. The 25-ft hose seems a little short (had to move the unit while washing the car) and the gas tank would be better if it were translucent (a visual for fuel left-in-tank.) However, you DO get a good run-time with this 2/3 gal fuel tank.
During our first use, engine vibrations made the unit âwalkâ on the less-than-beefy front foot, caused the front-foot screw to back itself out, and etched a long path on our driveway while we werenât lookingâ¦.good thing it wasnât our wood deck! (really needs a sturdier front foot with at least 2 screws.) While idling, the engine cut-out twice while we moved it, requiring 2 re-starts (never happens with the Honda engine on our old power-washer.) The pressure hose is sturdy but stiff (vs. Ryobiâs un-kinkable âPower-Flexâ design.) In short, itâs a high-quality unit with some not-ready-for-prime-time parts.
Note: the HD âspecificationsâ lists the fuel tank capacity as .96 gal. Itâs actually .66 gal.

Out of the box it is very easy to assemble. It just requires a few parts to snap on.
It has plenty of power and with an assortment of tips you can taylor your pattern to your job.
The "Idle Down" feature is nice so save fuel and reduce noise when you're moving the unit or have a delay in washing.
The engine noise is louder than I expected. However, it is a well powered 212 cc engine. If noise is a deciding factor for you splurge for the Ryobi with the Honda engine.
The engine also vibrated quite a bit. The unit is very light which is nice for moving around, however it can sometimes move around on you.
Because historically people aren't watching the unit when they they stretch the hose there is an automatic shut off when it is tilted to prevent damage to the engine. However, it is very sensitive and if you tilt it back too much when relocating it while running it will shut off. Not a deal breaker, but something to be aware of.
The oil is pre measured and includes a funnel.
The unit is very light and easy to move around with the big wheels.
The gas cap is easy to grab ahold of and screw in.
It is labeled everywhere and has instructions on everything. Theres no guessing involved.
The hose storage system is great. Easy to coil and has a band to keep it in place. The tips are easily stored and labeled on the handle.
The electrical system leave some room for improvement. It is all exposed which may lead to problems in the future.
Overall I think it is a good residential unit for someone who has the routine summer maintenance for their property.

Assembly, if you can call it that, was a breeze. The handles slide and clip in to place, the hose and lance screwed together, then the supplied oil was added. I was ready to go in less than 5 minutes.
The oversized wheels make rolling the pressure washer really easy. I was able to go from uneven aggregate on a parking area, up several stairs, and across my lawn, with very little effort. This is hands down the easiest to maneuver pressure washer I have owned.
A generously sized soap tank, with a large filler mouth, is on the front. No more messing around with little tanks hidden to the rear of my old pressure washer.
A hose reel is located at the top of the handle, which means you can wind the hose up without stooping. A simple bungee cord holds the hose on to the holder. This simple addition ended the frustration of the hose falling off when I move my old pressure washer around. The nozzles are also located in this area, and are easily accessible and clearly marked.
With a 187cc Honda gas engine, this pressure washer packs 3100 PSI. That is enough power to gouge concrete with the 0 degree nozzle. Thankfully, plenty of other nozzles are provided, allowing you to gently wash your vehicle, or remove stubborn crime from patios and sidewalks.
When you back off the washer by releasing the trigger, the motor idles down to save gas and run quieter.
At 25 feet, I found the hose to be the perfect length. Not too much to be dragging around, but enough to reach all areas of the chores. I found wheeling the washer to different places on my work area was easier than dragging a long hose that invariably would have been tangled or snagged.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Bill1974 Works great and easy to use.
I have only had this for a week and have used it 3 times already.
I'll list the one negative up front. I don't think my unit came in the typical packaging that you see if you get it in the store. So when I took it out of the box I noticed the cover to the air cleaner would not stay on and then found some plastic pieces in the box. Turns out the base to the air cleaner where the cover to air cleaner attaches is broken. Not a problem, I call up Ryobi to get a replacement part and they don't have replacement parts yet for this model, and don't know when it may be available. They suggested I return it to HD and get another one. I just used zip ties to hold the cover on till i can get a replacement part. The engine looks to be a Lifan engine so getting a replacement part should not be to difficult.
Anyway it works great, set up was easy. Attach the handle bar, put oil in it (get a funnel or you will be dumping oil all over) and attach the hoses and your done. oh and add gas.
It started on the second pull. It idles down when not used. if you tilt it to much the low oil switch shuts it down. It comes with 4 tips, two fan tips, one straight tip and one for spraying soap.
I used it washer the patio around my pool, the fence, diving board and the car too. I am amazed how well it clean with just water and how little is used. I am going to have sparkling cars this winter!

When I received the pressure washer it was inoperable. I was directed to take it to a local store to return. It took hours to find one that was comparable and had all the parts. Once I got home I was still missing a connector. I went back to the store for the connector, which they had to take from another machine. After I got home and put the machine into operation the pressure hose began to leak. I went back to the store and purchased a replacement hose that cost $54.00. After all of that the machine did seem to work correctly.I have only used it once. Awaiting my next adventure.
