There are no blades that come with the saw. Please note that you must use a T-shank blade. Bosch makes several types for wood and metal.

Answer:
The previous answer is *INCORRECT*. I originally asked this question. Since then, I bought this saw, and it does indeed come with a single standard wood cutting saw blade in the box. Note that it does *not* come with a carrying case though, and there's no good place to store the blade. If you leave it in the saw, it won't stand upright on a table and is just sticking out.

I bought the Bosch blade pack as well but when installing the blade the change blade clamp will not turn all the way back to the same position as when the Ryobi blade is installed. The "T" on the Bosch blades is a bit larger and preventing the clamp from fully turning back. Is it still safe to use even though it does not turn back the entire way?

I got bosch T-shank blades from Home Depot: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Bosch-T-Shank-Wood-Metal-Jigsaw-Blades-15-Pack/202242135.
Make sure you check to see that you are getting T-shank blades, and not not the U-shank blades (don't get the Vermont American blades, they are not compatible with this saw).

I am having issues with this unit barely cutting through 1 1/4" MDF shelf. Thickness limit here is similar to what you can do with a manual jig saw. Don't expect this to cut 2x4's

Hi Jakers, I contacted the Ryobi factory to get you an answer.
Ryobi stated the maximum wood thickness to cut is 1-1/2 inches, and 3/4" for aluminum.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Junk If you are capable of holding a saw mid-air & making a straight cut, then it's perfect. Otherwise, spend some money & get a better product. The base comes loose & after very little wear, the +/- dial will also change settings with the vibration. I typically don't buy cheap tools & can't remember why I did, but wasted money on this thing. Pure junk. September 7, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Happy The saw was easy to use, and I've only used it once, so I don't know the true value yet, but I had to cut a tree shape out of 1/4 plywood and it did just fine. I think it will serve it's purpose fine with me. August 23, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Utterly useless. Needed to cut some custom shelves in a hurry. This jig saw is ill equipped with a tiny (4"?) blade and blades from other gig saws didn't fit it so you can only take small narrow blades, meaning the cut isn't as easily straight as a standard wide blade. It took a painful 1-2 minutes per inch to cut through (1 1/4" thick MDF) with lots of muscle. The blade burns the wood, the motor gets very hot. It's so exhausting - I ended up using my manual saw which takes half the time and effort. The guides have rocked on the beautiful acrylic finish if my shelves, trashing them completely (I cut finished side up to avoid putting the finished surface on the work area). What good is an electric jig saw if it doesn't safe you time and effort, doesn't do an accurate job and is abusive to your substrate? Do you really need an orbital jig saw that can only cut thin laminates, a small PC pipe or 1" baseboard? August 12, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Beginner I am a young woman who decided to install my laminate flooring on my own and I was unsure of what saw I should use. After looking at pretty pricy different kinds of saws, I thought the Ryobi would be perfect. It has adjustable speeds, as well as 4 different types of material options you can set it at to cut, which was perfect for me. Only $40 and I'm already planning to use it for my other DIY projects. I love this jigsaw, as well as my Ryobi Drill! Next power tool I buy will probably be another Ryobi product. I'm happy! July 12, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by It works but thats about it Plenty of power,, my biggest issue is the base,, it wobbles and will come loose so while sawing by the end of a cut you might be on a angle and not know it,, if it had a better locking system it would be a great saw July 31, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by excellent for the money couldn't be happier. This isn't a tool that I'm going to use everyday so buying the more expensive model with all the bells and whistles wasn't necessary. The skeptic in me, however, expected this tool to be lousy. I've never been so happy to be wrong! July 26, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by You will get what you paid for Just picked up an hour ago and opened box. It should include a "Universal Blade" as advertised on the box but there is no blade. And guide is loosen and can't set to any degree. hold knob is not working at all. Very disappointed. On my way to return... This is second Ryobi I need to return in a month. I doubt to get myself another tool from Ryobi. July 22, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Price and Good Features Small Size , Very easy to use , Good Power at least for Me ,The Quick Changing bit thing is fast and Useful and I Just Love that Green Color , I Just Love It . July 14, 2016
