Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful saw I had bought one of these for myself and just loved it. I do a lot of woodworking. My brother does also so when he saw the information on it he mentioned he would like to get one. He lives in an area that has no Home Depot. I surprised him by buying him one and having it shipped to him. Got their before the scheduled time. He also loves it! Easy to handle, cuts exact. Use it for arched cuts etc. Built the pictured chair and side table with it. March 11, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very Happy Bought this to cut a template for making plaques. Liked the variable speed feature, cut nicely, and effectively. January 14, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Read the manual, y'all Like many other reviewers, I could not insert the blade. So I looked at the strange piece of paper with words all over it that came in the box...I believe it's called a "manual." TO INSERT THE BLADE, THE ORBITAL SELECTOR MUST BE SWITCHED TO SETTING #3. To be fair, this is a dumb requirement that to me indicates lazy design; at the very least, there should be a notice of this requirement stamped on the tool itself. But really, read the darn manual, people. Still gets four stars, because once the blade is in, it's a really really great tool (especially for the sale price of $29.99) November 11, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Becareful Be careful on the reviews.....The reviews may be for Model JS480l vs the model now being sold...JS481l. Note the on line manual is for Model JS480l. The JS480L model has a lifting type blade attachment mechanism while the JS481L has a twist lock blade attachment mechanism. I purchased and returned the JS481L model since I found it very very difficult to insert the blade....not impossible but extremely difficult.. In fact the tool dept guy mentioned they are getting returns for this problem. His comment was "I wouldn't buy this" Also, if I remember correctly the JS481L model accepts only the Tslot blades and not the U. I might be wrong on this but its worth checking out. I might have encountered a couple of bad JS481l units but beware and make sure the saw meets your needs before purchasing December 14, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Solid, cheap, light Jigsaw. If you want a basic jigsaw to learn and handle small projects, then there is nothing wrong with this saw. Make sure you use sharp blades and don't try to overpower the saw. No large complaints. It does what it's supposed to do for $40. It's certainly not heavy duty. March 4, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very good for the money! Was pleasantly surprised at the quality when compared to others in this price range. Easy to adjust speed and orbital action with nice graphical description on side. Would prefer a more positive feel when installing blade to know its locked in, but at high speed I've had no problem. Blade stays put. Seems well made. At this price, you can't go wrong. I would say the overall rating and quality on this saw is "very good", not just "good". April 5, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great value this was an excellent value. the tool is working as expected and should provide a great value for the dollars spent. February 17, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by junk !!! Peace of junk. I also do home remodels for over 20+years and it is not a smooth running saw ..plate is cheaply made also.but hey it's a $29 dollar saw right.good for the homeowner. February 9, 2015
