My need was for a string trimmer with wheels. Didn't have $300 to $500 for a big high wheel string trimmer. Saw this one online at HomeDepot and the price was right.
Likes- 4 cycle engine does have more torque, is quieter, whole machine is lightweight but does a heavy weight job of trimming. Don't have to lug around my curved shaft trimmer anymore. Now, I just steer and push. The adjustable angle on the trimmer head helps for edging, flat trimming or angle trimming. Quick change string pieces and hey!- how about that nice little spare string holder (holds about a dozen) that snaps onto the handle bar. I like that kind of intuitive design.
Dislikes- none come to mind.

Purchased this 2 weeks ago & returned it today. It went together no problem & fired right up without any effort. Ran nicely for about 30 minutes & then stalled. Could not restart it no matter what I tried. Let it sit for 1 hour & it fired right up again & ran for about 10 minutes before it stalled again. I should have done my research before purchase, (my bad!). Ryobi's 4 stroke engine yard equipment does not include an air filter. If you can imagine a string trimmer or other yard equipment with all of that debris flying about, well of course it will choke out. Even an engine needs a little air to breathe. Got a 2 stoker w/air filter instead.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Juke Need some muscle to start
The "easy start" advertised with this product is not true for Seniors or women how do not have the muscle power to fully extend the starter cord. I can only use my trimmer when my son-in-law stops in and starts it for me or my wife. It would be fine if they offered an auxiliary starter for this product. Since that is not available I cannot recommend this product.

This trimmer seems like a great idea. When it's working properly it's a great machine. The problem is the use of poor materials in the trimmer head and poor assembly of that head. String is easy to load. It can be a bear to remove broken strings. You have to push in but the jaws will refuse to release. You can't take the hub apart because the bolt is over torqued and strips the plastic part that you are supposed to turn it with.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by BigMarsh52 very light duty, not good
Easy to put together even though the instructions were bad. I think it was page 9 before it stated that 0 or - was the on position. The line broke even on light grass and could not cut any thing large at all. Talked to customer service (he was great) asked if I had a large adjustable wrench to get the spool off because it would not come off by hand it should. I don't think I should need a large assortment of tools to to fix a simple spindle. He told me to have a towel to catch any springs that might fall out after I get the screws off the spool. To get started to begin with it pulled very hard, after I had to replace the strings it started much easier.

We love this trimmer. My husband has had medical conditions that limit the weight he can work with and also the motors need to be away from his body. This trimmer fills the bill beautifully ! He does not have to lift on it and it is easy to manuver!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Spike String trimmer alternative
Too little oil comes with unit. Set up is easy but adding oil and checking it is a nuisance.
A better method should have been devised to add and check oil. Unit runs very well and does
trimming well. Unit is very light and easy to handle. Time will tell how unlit hold up to use.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Fitboss Weak line
I have had this trimmer for 2mo now. No problems with it running the huge problem is the strength or lack of with the line. It's last about 5min trimming privacy fence line. And on a few occasions it cuts off in the head that u have to unscrew unit to get broken line out. If I keep the trimmer I will be changing the heads out for sure. Very nice that it's 4cycle and pretty easy to move around.
