Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by You get what you pay for. The quality of this belt sander is about what you'd expect for this price range. I bought this one because I only needed it for light sanding and I didn't want to pay more than I had to. I don't even use the disc with its table mount because I don't need it and it seems so cheaply made that it would do more harm than good. I'd recommend this tool to a friend who only wants to do light sanding for short periods of time. I've already found multiple uses for it that I never would have thought of if it were not already siting there in my shop. March 16, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fabulous sander Purchased this belt/disc combo sander last year and will say that it saved me hours of hand sanding. Very versatile, not only did I use it to sand but also to shape my wood for various projects. I was very fortunate that the Oakville store had only one sander left, so I was able to purchase the display model at half the price. Did not receive a manual but found it very simple to change sandpaper and make simple adjustments. Thank you Ryobi for another versatile tool in my collection. August 31, 2007
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Product I bought my Ryobi sander over a year ago from Home Depot and have used it many many times. I would recommend it to anyone. I do a lot of wood working and use the belt and the disc equally. I especially like using the disc for outside rounded corners on some of the signs I make. Mine is easily hooked up to my vacuum system and it does a great job keeping the dust down. August 31, 2007
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The Ryobi Belt Sander The Ryobi belt sander is sturdy, easy to use and very smooth too. Ryobi has made it possible for very good quality power tools to become more affordable. I use to only dream of owning good quality power tools but now, I can actually afford them at a very reasonable cost, thanks to Ryobi and Home Depot January 1, 2009
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Make fast work of any benchtop sanding job! I've been using this tool for a week, and it provides excellent results. This dual sander is very well made for the price, and works beautifully for detailed work. Both disk and belt sanders are smooth and stable, and the guides and accessories perform as they should. Highly recommended! August 31, 2007
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Product Good solid Ryobi product. Get some finer paper as it comes with a fairly aggressive paper. Very quick sanding & easy to set up. Another good deal from Ryobi December 17, 2010
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Ryobi Belt/Disc sander. Do not buy this product. Worked well but when the drive belt broke I could nearly buy a new sander for what it will cost for the shipping on a lousy belt. December 11, 2007
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sturdy and forgiving Use this sander in a school workshop to sand wood and aluminum. Has lasted under very hard use for at least three years until the timing belt failed (2/3 of the teeth were stripped) and even then we could use the sander by pushing the belt along to engage the remaining teeth. The motor is very powerful, almost no speed reduction during use. The switch can go bad with repetitive use and dirt buildup. It's a simple replacement, though. If you hear a whining sound when running the belt sander, it's most likely a timing belt failure. June 4, 2012
