I'm not real sure what your question is regarding the warranty. Ryobi makes replacement spools loaded with eather .80 or .65 line. for their auto feed single line cordless trimmers. The replacement spools package states which trimmers they are compatible with. It's a little awkward to switch back and forth, but it will go both ways, you just have to get the hang of it. I just tap the peddle to get it to release and then put the head on the ground and twist.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.6 out of 5 by 66 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by OK for small yards and light use only I picked one of these up after my old gas powered trimmer finally quit working, and it did the job OK for awhile. It has very good power, but the trade-off for that is battery life, which is short out of the box and seems to fade over time. I usually get 20-30 minutes of trimming before the battery is done, and a full charge requires 90+ minutes, more if the battery needs to cool before it can start charging. One of the biggest problems is the design of the head, which has cheap, thin plastic covers that melt and break quickly. If you're buying this, grab a few of the head covers too, you're going to need them. Pros - Good power, commensurate with a two cycle gas trimmer - Lightweight Cons - String feed is poor, esp if you're used to a bump head - Head and motor both get very hot, line regularly melts together inside head on hot days - Short battery life, and with continued use battery holds less charge - Poor head design with plastic covers that have very short lifespan July 22, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very disappointing When it works, it's great. But it broke down after a month. Cheap plastic, poor line feed. Hard to switch from trimmer to edger. Good battery life and power. The problem is if you have invested in battery and charger, its hard to switch to another brand without sacrificing the bundle you paid big dollars for. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 40 Volt Power! Love this trimmer/edger. Especially the edger. Super easy to use. Quiet and powerful enough for everything. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works Really Well Easy to use and cuts well. I was actually surprised how well the edger works. August 16, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good trimmer, edger decent-worth the money For the money, this is a very good trimmer/edger. The couple of drawbacks I see are trying to convert back to trimmer from edger isn't smooth and getting used to the automatic line feeder takes a little bit. I would definitely recommend. The battery has good life and there's no need to deal with gas and oil or exhaust. August 10, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by ok, but only one string. Only having one string makes weedeating difficult and the string is kind of short. Other than that I would give this 5 stars and other than that I would recommend this. Thats just how much I dont like the single short line August 3, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Trimmer Easy to use. Requires change of line a little too often but we use it HARD. Battery is sometimes difficult to remove. Battery life could always be longer but overall a very good trimmer. August 16, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by overheats easily overheats too easily have already burned up motor, even with constant cleaning. Motor vents too small, clog instantly, must stop to clear vents many times during battery run session, wasting time. Therefore, motor burned out, will see if Home Depot will honor warranty/return. If they will not honor a warranty/customer satisfaction will buy something else. Its too bad, we bought a second battery just this year...now what!? It cut well enough even though it is a single string system. These motors on the heads of battery op trimmers get way too dirty and too fast to keep the motor cool...poor manufacturer design, not Home Depot's fault. May 26, 2016
