Bought this to help take down a very old, rusty shed in our backyard. Found that it worked, but also found it is very particular about how you mount the wheel on it. First time it looked like it was on properly, but after turning it on, it went elliptical and dug into the protective barrier. After that I found it worked well at cutting through the sheet metal - just be sure to always wear proper eye, head, and ear protection, as well as proper clothing and shoes. Seems good for light duty so far.

Mine is about 6 months old, and the cheap plastic switch broke. Ryobi does not sell internal parts as the cost would not make sense for a $30.00 unit.

I went to home depot intending to rent a grinder, but I ended up buying this because of the low price. I figured it's a good tool to have on hand anyway. I walked out with the grinder, extra disc, gloves and safety glasses for $42. Not too bad.
I had a relatively small project to do - cut off 6 3/4" pieces of rebar protruding from concrete steps and grind them flush. The grinder handled the job very well. It would have been nice to have more power, but if you were mindful of how much force you were using it still worked pretty well. Its definitely not a professional tool, but that's not what Ryobi tries to make.
The quality of the tool is decent. It feels solid. The switch seems like it will only be comfortable for right handed use, but it does lock in position so it wouldn't be too big of a deal. The screw on handle is the only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. It had the tendency to loosen while I was grinding. It is nice that the handle also serves as storage for the wrench, though.
Overall, its a good light duty grinder. Its not a heavy duty Milwaukee, but its great for small jobs. I would recommend this to a friend.

I needed to replace my broken angle grinder so I purchased this because of the price. I wasn't expecting much but overall it perform the way it should. The motor is not as strong as the more expensive models but as long as you don't force it the grinder will cut and grind fine.

I bought this grinder because of the price. After using on a project I relized what a 5.5 amp motor could do. This grinder doesn't compare to the 7 or 8 amp grinders. But, for the price I'd buy another one.
