This appears to be a decent saw, particularly for the price, but be aware you're limited to T-shank blades as this saw won't take U-shank blades.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0Â by radorod powerful, solid, good blade system
This thing cuts through 5/8 plywood like it's not even there. Nice, powerful motor cuts 5x faster than my old jigsaw. The tool-less blade changing system works really well, but took me a couple minutes to figure out (be sure to seat the blade home hard before letting go of the twist mechanism or it won't stay in properly). This is not a criticism; just a tip. The base is nice and flat and stable.
My only criticisms are:
1) The miter gauge is almost useless with the degree numbers almost completely hidden by the dust collector port. I don't know what they were thinking. If you'll need to do a lot of miter changes or expect to be able to set repeatable angles then you'll need to use some kind of external gauge, or look to a different model. Also, its a bit of a drag needing an allen key to adjust the miter, but at least once it's snugged up it stays where you've set it. If you're like me and do most of your cuts at 90 anyway, then I'd overlook this design weakness because the rest of the tool is great.
2) The power cord is made of the stiffest plastic of any hand tool I've ever owned. I'm being nit-picky, but it's true. I'm not crazy about it.
While I've only used it for one small project so far, if it holds up, which it feels like it will, then it's a nice tool which I'd purchase again. No regrets. Recommended.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0Â by BodgeUpBazza Good for home use
Pleasantly surprised by this. Has a good range of speeds and the dust collection does a reasonable job considering the price point. The only negative is that at times it seems the speed will vary slightly, even when not actually cutting - not a major issue as I don't use jig saws all that much.
For an occasional user, it seems close to ideal.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0Â by Kmacnm Excellent value for a quality tool!
Excellent value for such a quality tool! Bang for the buck, mighty hard to beat at this price point. First impression of this saw when you pick it up is the feel of quality! This saw has a robust 6.1 amp motor for plenty of cutting power. The saw feels very solid in your hand. It's a little heavy, which is a good thing as it helps to dampen the vibrations. Makes for a solid platform from which to operate. The Speed Match feature allows you to choose the intensity of the orbital action in conjunction with the variable speed control to best accomplish the task at hand given the material type you are working with. You can adjust for precision or speed, or a combination of both! Very versatile! The high intensity LED lights up your cutting area and the blow port keeps debris clear from your cut line so you can easily see what you're doing. Two excellent features! Along with the no mar large base plate, the vacuum port for dust removal, the no tool rapid blade change apparatus, the straight cut edge guide, the blade support roller, the hand grip, the variable speed control, the orbital function, all contribute to this saw being an absolute pleasure to operate! Not to mention the bright, hard to lose, green canvas carrying case, make this a tremendously efficient and effective tool that is easy to operate combined with the ability to perform most any task you'll ever need a jigsaw to do! I highly recommend this jigsaw for the DIY'er home improvement folks! Given the features, performance, value and price point, I don't know how you could possibly go wrong with this saw! I highly recommend this tool as a very sound, no regrets, purchase! I have every expectation that this saw will last a very good long time! Nice going Ryobi! :)

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0Â by the1blast Sink cutout, door trim, pergola 2x6 decorative end cuts
I got this jigsaw to cut out a Formica counter top, which worked great. Cut pie slices out to create a small circle. I then used it to cut decorative end cuts on 2 X 6 treated wood, while 8' in the air and then used it to cut a door jam board to be shorter for wheel chairs. Not having used one before I felt confident using it with the easy selector knob. The angle adjustment became loose and I finally had to read the manual to figure out how to lock it in place. Practice on a test board helps.
