I purchased this just over a year ago and on the third time to use it I took it out of the case and felt a strange substance on my hand. The palm of my hand and fingers were blue! The coating on the buffer had softened and stuck to my hand like glue. I had to use acetone to remove it from my skin. I called Ryobi and explained what had happened. The lady I spoke with said I obviously left it in a very hot or cold environment. This buffer is kept in its original case with all my other Ryobi power tools in my detached garage. Never have any of the others had this issue and none are in sunlight or extreme heat or cold. After I expressed my belief this was a defective product I was put on hold for 9 minutes and she returned to tell me this was my fault and not a warranty issue. I then looked on line and found numerous cases like this and also they had changed this very model to one with a different material because of said issues. The mechanical aspect of this buffer is good but a poor choice of case materials makes it unusable unless you enjoy putting caustic chemicals on your hands to clean them after use. The upgraded model will likely be fine but I have bought my last Ryobi product because of the refusal to stand behind their products.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gets the job done Good price but I don't expect this to last long. The applicator bonnet supplied is very thin and cheaply made. I was only able to get two uses out of it before it was ruined. The motor could use more power, this is really only good for light buffing. It's definitely a wrist saver, but took longer than expected to get clear results. Primary use is automobile headlight detailing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great buffer for a really good price! Came fully assembled and with 2 buffer pads. This small unit works qreat and you can't find better quality for the price, I use mine for applying RainX on my truck windshield and it works great!
