Bought this as a Christmas gift for my daughter. She was thrilled to get it and has been using it a lot ever since. The big plus factor was no bulky battery pack portruding from the drill, making it a lot easier for her to handle. She is an apartment manager who does a lot of minor maintenance work as well as repairs computers and small appliances on the side. My reason for choosing this product is based on my personal experience with an earlier model that is still serving me well. I also bought some accessory packs of assorted bits and drills so she would stop raiding my toolbox every time she came to the house. <grin>

I bought this drill when I moved into my new apartment. I didn't need any heavy-duty tools or a huge kit, just something for quick jobs around the place such as assembling furniture, driving screws and anchors into the walls, etc.
I bought this tool based on positive reviews and now want to add mine to the mix. This drill has a great simple, intuitive and compact design. The variable speed feature is great for accuracy and for more delicate projects. The battery life is amazing and this drill is always read to go when I need it.
Overall, I wanted to tool that could get the job done quickly and easily, and this tool is it!

Works good. As advertised. Would like a little more refinement in the speed control, though.

I bought this drill to do small projects around the house where a full size drill would be overkill. My only complaints are that you can't change batteries and it takes a while to recharge .

My lovely wife bought me this drill from the display at Home Depot as an early Christmas present. I mistakenly thought it looked a little cheap when I first opened it and charged it up. Then when using it the first thing I noticed is how comfortable it feels while holding the drill. It doesn't feel cheap at all. It's very solid for its small size and it's well balanced with the battery inside the handle. The variable speed trigger has a smooth precision feel. This drill has a extremely beneficial battery charge indicator light on the side that tells you how much charge it has left. Then when you plug it in the light tells you how far along the charging is. It takes about two to four hours to charge depending on how dead it is so its not too bad.
So far I have used it on a few projects around the house and I've been impressed with the power and convenience of this drill. This when I don't need the DeWalt 20V brushless or the Makita 12V. The only real test I put it to was hanging a dog run cable when it was below freezing out. I used this drill because I had pockets full of other tools and fasteners etc. and had to climb a ladder, at night, so I wanted to keep down on bulk. I had to drill 4 deep 1/4" holes and drive in four bolts to a 4" x 4" and drill a deep 3/8" hole into a pine tree. The drill worked great in the cold weather even though the battery was almost dead to begin with.
The only thing I would want to change about the drill would be to add a speed selector switch on top to change between more torque or more RPM. I also have the Ryobi Tek4 4V LI-ION screwdriver and I love that thing too. It has the speed selector switch as do most other drills. So other than that this drill is perfect for what I need it for. Though I should note this is a pretty small drill. It's about half as strong as a good 12V LI-ION drill. If you need a small household drill with a little more umpth HD also has a Ryobi 12V LI-ION drill for $10 more which would handle most all household needs.
The drill gets a great rating because it can put up with normal abuse that one might encounter with a drill. In one case I accidentally dropped the drill on the concrete while on a ladder a few feet up and the driver bit actually chipped the concrete but the drill was fine, still sounds/runs smooth as can be. Another time my dog took off with the drill and had it for about 5 - 10 minutes. She barely marked up the soft grip handle from chewing on it which really surprised me.

This is a light weight, very useful drill for hanging pictures, curtains, mirrors, & other small projects around the house.
A drill even the wife will use! Lol
Not a ton of torque as it's an 8-volt, but that was to be expected.
The LED light is a nice feature to help see your target and avoid damaging the drywall.

I wanted a power screw driver, that was compact, powerful, and fast. I didn't know if this drill would get new there but figured the price was right to give it a try. I have to say this was the perfect buy! I took it home chatted it and used our to drill, and screw deck screws in a repair effort on my fence. It worked awesome, I didn't even think about breaking out my dewalt 12V! Buy this, you will not be disappointed, in fact I think you will be very impressed!
