Answer:
As with all Lithium-Ion batteries, it comes partially charged, and can be used right away, though I would suggest charging it first.

Hi!

Ryobi says that the battery(ies) are not removable.

What does one do with the drill when it no longer charges?

I'm not trying to ask a stupid question, I truly don't know (other than throw it away ugh) what to do with it after the batteries won't charge any longer.

Thank you!!

Answer:
I have not experienced that problem with this drill, but I did with a smaller Ryobi drill. Unfortunately, you have no choice but to throw it away since you cannot replace the battery. It is dead!. I've only had my 8-Volt Lithium-ion Drill for about one year. But my other Ryobi drill lasts over 10 years, so I'm hoping this one will as well. Sorry for the bad news!

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 58 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Compact and useful This was perfect for carrying in my tool bag and using this instead of my wrist all day long as a service technician. The battery lasts pretty long and you almost have the power of a regular drill. This was also the lower priced drill of some of the brands, which is nice since if you need anymore power you should just get an impact for around $100. October 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This drill was easy to use. Good weight balance in my hand. My first drill, good choice for a beginner. Had excellent help from store personal. October 25, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by For small around the house jobs Bought the Ryobi just to do Jobs around the house and it has served it's purpose well October 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Small but Mighty! I lost my drill/driver in a move and this is perfect for my needs! It's compact and fits in my tool box. It's easy to use and light weight! Great buy for the somewhat DIY'er!!! October 4, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice small project drill This little drill is powerful for it's size. I like the small lightweight design for projects that don't require the larger, heavier drills. The battery last longer than I expected but takes a long time to recharge. Being it's in the drill and cannot be removed you are stuck with the recharging time restraint. It's a great little drill otherwise. October 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great all purpose Great all purpose drill. I use it for working in car sales, great to store and handle while taking tags off. September 6, 2016
