Customer Reviews

Rated 2.4 out of 5 by 14 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Waste of money This is absolutely useless for measuring distance. Though it is correct sometimes, it's rare. I've measured completely empty rooms with this and gotten inaccurate readings. The temperature sensor does seem to work fine, but Ryobi makes a stand-alone temperature gun that's $10 cheaper. This also burns through 9V batteries pretty fast. If you're looking for a quality distance measurer, I'd definitely go with a Bosch instead. I've accurately measured entire office buildings with those. December 17, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Spend a little more, get a better unit I bought one of these recently, and got to try it out this weekend, measuring the inside of large window frame for a shade. This device told me the window height was 3' 6" (42"), my tape measure said it was 3' 9-1/2" (45-1/2"). The window width was reported as 2' 9" (33"), again, my tape measure showed it was 5' 10" (70-1/8"). The difference was 3-1/2" X 37-1/8", or 92% X 47% accuracy. My only explanation is, that maybe the 4" window sill was too small of a target. Anyway, beware. March 3, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Super Great Tool - LUV IT The infrared thermometer is easy to activate and then read - very accurate / same with the measuring distance readout up to 30 feet...awesome tool. July 22, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Do not buy this product! In no way could this EVER be used as a measure...ever! It's no where close to accurate, does not display anything between full inches! Measure the same distance twice and you'll get two different results. Truthfully, I'm not sure what purpose this device serves at all. Only plus was HD took it back. Don't waste your time or money. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very erratic and inaccurate This product cannot be trusted because it gives measurements all over the board from the same distance. even if i sit on a flat stable surface, measurements are either not given or can GET DIFFERENT MEASUREMENTS EACH TIME. May 27, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The features are great. Works great. Will be reliable when I purchase a house. April 22, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Measure device this product did now work very well. I used the measuring feature and got various results over the same distance. So I read the instructions and found out that I was doing it correctly but the device is just not accurate. Returned! January 14, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Do Not Buy Unless for some reason you see a need to have a piece of plastic that is never correct, I wouldn't buy this "instrument". April 15, 2014
