Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by perfect for a DIY and home renovation I'm DIY guy, have been doing this for less than a year. I used a miter saw at a tutorial workshop and that was it. I got this saw a month ago, and used it recently to install floating hardwood. Setup was straightforward, got it up and running in 15 minutes with me following the assembly instructions in the manual; this is my first time setting up a miter saw. Quality looks good, cuts were good and laser beam is pretty accurate. The only downside is the built-in suction, sucked less than half of the wood dust. Noise-wise i would think it's acceptable, didn't have to wear any ear muffs, but with the muffs it was pretty quiet. Another downside is the size of the blade, if you're cut is more than say 10cm, you gotta either do it twice (by flipping the plank which in my case was 14cm in width) or cutting the rest by hand. So in this situation a sliding miter saw would've been handy. Next I will be doing crown molding, pretty confident it will work fine. March 2, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic miter saw! My husband bought me this saw to cut the moulding. This saw is light weight , easy to use and comes set with a blade. The blade was so awesome that I used it to cut the moulding for every room in our 1800sq ft house and its still sharp! Its amazing that they can sell this fantastic saw for as little as they do. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Gets the job done Bought it for mitering quarter round and molding. Makes an accurate and clean cut if you choose the correct blade. Blades cost must less for this model versus the 10", and the build quality seems better than the next size up in this line, and this one being smaller is easier to store and transport. Cons: Laser is a nice feature but runs off batteries. Dust bag is not very effective due to poor fit. Overall a useful tool that works well and is fairly portable. May 11, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great little saw Very useful for the purpose I wanted it for. I am starting to make wooden jewelry and this saw is the right size to make the cuts I need for certain pieces. It is also big enough to use for finish work such as door molding. I have been using such saws for over 50 years and this is a good one. June 16, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great little saw This is an excellent little saw for cutting trim boards and doing small craft projects. The sides extend out about 3 feet either side for cutting longer boards. It will cut through a 2x4 with a little fenagling (flipping the board over to complete the cut) but not really meant for it. The legs collapse for easy portability and storage. The laser worked great for about a year, then we developed a minor short that required jiggling the wire occasionally to make it work. I did find a replacement part online for about $20 if it ever quits completely or if we just get tired of jiggling the wire. Great tool for the money. August 18, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Miter Saw for DIY projects I just bought this saw 2 weeks ago for cutting molding and quarter rounds of my rental house. This is the first time I ever use a miter saw. I owned a table saw and a wheel saw, but they aren't good for cutting angles in both horizontal and vertical directions. Most miter saws are too expensive and heavy. This is the cheapest I can find (with laser and rotates in both axis). I cut all molding boards and quarter rounds easily and precisely. The only thing I don't like is that numbers and scales of the base angle meter is hard to read. They should change the color, make numbers black on white or vice versa instead of a mono color very hard to see clearly you almost need a flash light. Otherwise, it is a perfact saw for me. Very happy with it. Oh, there is another thing I want to mention. The user manul should come with a recomendation of type of saw blades for different boads. Luckily I got advice from HD store employee for proper saw blade for my project, which is very nice. October 2, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This Miter Saw is great for ladies This product is great for ladies because it is small and is not heavy, I am a lady and was able to install all of my mouldings by myself making the 45 degree cuts with this wonderful tool, I recommend this to all handy ladies. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good saw for the $$$ I purchased this saw a couple years ago to use on a small hardwood flooring project. Like others stated, it was set up & running 15-minutes out of the box. Since that project, I've used it several times on various projects and it's a great saw for the money. The laser guide on mine is fairly accurate, I've had to adjust it only once. Others stated their dust bag didn't catch all the wood dust, but mine does a great job. Overall, it's a great little saw and I recommend it. January 20, 2015
