Answer:
I have a Ryobi hedge trimmer, but it uses the standard 18v One+ battery. The 24v battery has a different connection so I don't think you could use it.

Not sure, check Ryobi site. Or hit "contact." I may eventually get the 40V battery for my edger, and a hedge trimmer sounds like it could use the same voltage. But those lithium ion batteries aren't cheap!

Answer:
Yes, they're both 24 volt. If you get the chance to buy a larger 24 volt battery, go for it. I was able to get one at my local store in their refurbished outdoor tool section. I picked up a string trimmer with the large battery for $59.00. The battery itself online is more than that, so it was a good deal. Check your store if you're close to one.

Answer:
as long as u match up the voltage to what it is, this is a 24v hedger so u would be able to, do not cross 12v, 18, or 24 volt with ur tools though. must use value of tool in voltage.

I only got about ten 15-minute uses out of the battery during the first year before it wouldn't hold much of a charge. Same thing with a replacement battery. I'm giving up on cordless tools.

Hi Sue! The procedure to replace the blade is located in the instruction manual and can be viewed under the Info&Guides section on the Home Depot web page for this product. The blades can either be purchased from Home Depot or through our parts distributor Gardner by calling 1-800-848-8946. I hope this helps. Thanks for reaching out to us!

9 in. 24-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Edger is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 186.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great edger- poor battery I wanted a real blade on edger-not a string. I purchased about 3 years ago and it does a great job. The original battery lasted about 2yrs. The battery was too expensive to purchase alone so I bought the entire edger again thinking I would have to replace the edger. But it has been great. However, the new battery has lasted only a few months. So disappointed. My Worx batteries are still working after 3 years. Ryobi needs to "fix" battery and make it reasonably priced. Guess I'll look for another brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super edger, powerful easy to use I have used this tool for four summer seasons, and all I had to buy was new blades. It's efficient, light weight , but strong. Cuts all the time on time. I'm just at the point where I need a new battery. My charge does not last as long as it use to. I normally buy the extra battery at time of purchase, but for some reason, stores that sell this tool don't sell the extra batteries. If they sold the extra batteries along side of the tool, you probably would sell more of this "wonderfully unknown tool" [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK edger for the money This is the 24V cordelss Ryobi edger. This tool is lightweight and edges pretty good. I went through one blade two batteries in the first two years. The batteries are way too expensive to keep replacing, so I ended up buying the low-price Ryobi string trimmer with edger attachment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprisingly powerful and convenient I've never owned an edger, always using a string trimmer to edge my sidewalk and driveway. I saw this as a good online deal and ordered it. I've switched from gas to lithium ion for my trimmer, blower and chainsaw also. I have an acre, so the driveway is fairly long, as is the sidewalk. The battery lasts for all of it, plus most of my beds, and I have a lot of beds to edge. I did pick up a spare battery to swap when one dies, but the charge lasts a good long time. It does a great job of making things look neat and I don't miss the gas and oil one bit. I'm very pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love it!!! Light and strong With DJD was looking for other options. I always owned gas 2 cycle. Product is easy to use and very light to handle. I saw no vibration. It cuts much better than my gas powered yard tools. True only takes an hour to fully charge. No cords or gas required. Needless to say after using this product have purchased or waiting on other Ryobi battery items which I wish I bought 38 years ago at age 20. Gave away all my 2 cycle gas products and will go with the Home Depot Ryboy. Home Depot is great, cheaper than other than other like stores and the free shipping cannot be beat. (Guess not eligible for gjft card as do not own camera. No problem though)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy Edging This Cordless Edger was very simple to assemble and easy to operate. It is very lightweight and easy to operate. This edger is good depending on the amount of edging you have to do. The Battery will last for about 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on how hard you are using it. I would recommend this more for a small to medium size yard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Edger for Residential Home Use Outstanding!!!!! This piece of equipment is exactly what a residential home owner should own if they like to have a neatly edged yard along their driveway, walkways, or patio. I wanted to purchase a gas powered head and an edger attachment, but they had these on sale for $80 when I bought mine. So I had to give it a shot. It is perfect. Exactly what is needed. It is not to under powered and not over powered for an average size residence. It takes me 5 to 10 minutes to accomplish my edging and battery power as never failed me. I have edged many yards in my life and I believe this device would be successful with a yard up to atleast a half acre. If you have a little growth of grass all you have to do is start it spinning before you place it where you need to edge. This is the edger all home owners should own.
