Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 50 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by did the job but could be better I originally bought the mastercraft biscuit cutter for $50. It rattled, burned my wood and cut the slots way too big. So I returned it and bought the Ryobi. The Ryobi is much better than the mastercraft but there is room for improvement. The Good: Reasonably priced, clean cuts, comfortable in the hand when doing end cuts, dust bag works good, carrying case included The Bad: setting the height is inaccurate. No matter how much I fumbled with it I was unable to get a perfectly centred end cut. The Height adjustment also moves when locking the fence in place, very annoying. The other downside is when doing plunge cuts, its pretty uncomfortable and awkward compared to standard designs. Overall this cutter is ok, It works, it gets the job done. But it is inaccurate although this doesn't make it unusable, you just have to think your cuts through a bit to make sure they match up. I also found it uncomfortable at times for plunge cuts. I will be returning this and exchanging for the Freud for $30 more. February 23, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by RYOBI Biscuit Joiner Well made and very functional product with features of much more expensive units. Especially like the rack & pinion controls and the comfort grips on the front and rear handles. The unit is light enough to work with over extended periods of time but durable enough to last a long time. I considered several other more expensive brands of biscuit joiners but purchased this unit because of the features and price. I was not disappointed with my decision. August 24, 2007
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best I've Ever Used I bought this tool after using a Freud and a Mastercraft, and this is by far superior to both, especially for the price. The mastercraft was bulky and heavy, and the biscuit depth stop worked so poorly it may as well not had one. The freud had the same problem, but with the height instead. I have a ryobi detail biscuit joiner and would also recommend it. March 6, 2011
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by comfortable in hand I had purchased this as playing with it in the store it felt comfortable in the hand. It is fairly light weight and easy to move around. I had returned it only because the size of the front guide fence is extremely large, which made it difficult to use on smaller material, if assembled with other stock . If this is not an issue to you I would recommend it . March 8, 2007
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good value for the money Bought this unit because of favorable reviews in one of the woodworking magazines. The one weak spot is the clamp used to control the height, if you aren't careful it could slip and change the location of the biscuit relative to your previous cuts. For the occasional user like myself, this is a great first buy. February 27, 2007
