Product Overview

Coated with a black oxide finish for reduced friction and minimal heat buildup, these heavy-duty drill bits are rated for use on metal to produce clean, burr-free holes. The black oxide drill bits in this 21-piece set from Ryobi have a 135-degree split point so they start penetrating on impact and don’t wander on your workpiece. Also suitable for wood and plastic drilling, these durable bits are constructed with a high-speed steel core to meet the demands of repeated use.

Black Oxide Drill Bit Set (21-Piece) is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your money Terrible, cheap drill bits, 3 broke within the first half hour of using them. Don't make the mistake I made, spend a little extra money and buy something that will last.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from not good I broke the first size I needed to make a hole for decking (drilling through composite decking!!!!). So then used the next size that would WORK, and that also broke. I broke two more and then just through the whole thing in the trash.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good value A nice drill bit set. I like that it comes with the 1/2' drill bit, which not many sets do. Also, it comes with doubles of all of your common sizes like 1/8", 1/4", etc. Good thinking, Ryobi! A great deal at $15.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Suitable for most applications These are good enough quality for around the house jobs. I have had no problems with them drilling through drywall or doors. A great value for my needs in most applications.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Average quality bits. These are OK for occasional DYI jobs. They are not high end drill bits. I would recommend them for what they are -- occasional users.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent quality and price! Price and quality really impressed me. I always shop at home depot for my construction projects and tools.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not sharp- can't handle wood I disagree with previous posters who say that these are good for household use. The price is certainly right and they are fine for drywall or plastic, but as soon as you hit a stud, get ready to sweat. Took me forever to drill just a half inch into the stud to hang a curtain rod and when I pulled the bill out of the wall it felt hot enough to actually ignite the sawdust. Scary. I'm going to see if I can return these. Funny thing is, when I was in the store I was like < "huh, these are $10 cheaper than the Milwaukee set but they look like the exact same thing." Yeah.. not the same thing at all.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ryobi Bits Well you get what you pay for. Bought these just for a cheap set to use on occasions and they seem to be sharp and drill fine they just break easy. Would recommend for lite duty use only.
