Customer Reviews

Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 70 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ryobi has a perfect blend of cost and performance I've had DeWalt and Makita cordless tools in the past and I have to say that as much as I loved the classic Makita cordless drill, the Ryobi cordless drill, and to a greater extent, the entire one+ system, is by far my favorite. The tools are durable, power is at least as good as anything else out there, and the best part: The NiCad batteries are about $20 each! I can't say how important this is in my rave reviews for the Ryobi tools. I have 5 batteries and about 8 different Ryobi tools and I couldn't be happier. One last thing, the batteries come with a lifetime warranty as well. I highly recommend this brand. February 16, 2010
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ryobi 8 volt NiCad Drill Kit I have been using Ryobi products for years and am completely satisfied with the product for the price. I used another drill like this for at least 5 years and it finally gave out. I ordered another online and it was only $39! Unbelieveable! My Craftsman drills have all played out and I have replaced them with Ryobi. Similar Craftsman drill is almost $100 and doesn't feel like it has as much torque and overall power. I wish I lived closer to a Home Depot store! February 5, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ryobi Tools/ Home Depot Just bought this drill to replace the twin that was removed from my truck bed (stolen). I'm very impressed with the quality- vs- price of the Riobi tools and Home Depot had a great on line price for this drill. The drill is very durable, the battery has staying power even when drilling heavy applications. It has descent balance, very good detail features and the HD's price could not be beat! If you are looking for a deal on a rugged cordless drill it's here. February 15, 2010
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great add on to a Ryobi collection I already have multiple Ryobi one + tools and Lithum Ion batteries and have been very happy with them. My orignal drill finally died after a long service life. This was very economical replacement. The difference between this drill and the one you buy in the store is the charger. This has a small, overnight charger where the store bought, and more expensive version, has a one hour charger. This is better suited as an add on drill rather than a stand alone. September 7, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I would jump at this deal I didn't see thison display in the store, only online. The battery is on the shelves though, and it's $40. The guy at the service desk told me Ryobi may be phasing out the the Ni-Cad batteries, which seems a reasonable explanation for the low price. I am quite sure the drill will accept any Ryobi 18V battery. I am an occasional DYIer and my experience with the NiCad batteries has been satisfactory. It has a charger, too, though it'd not shown.. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Five Star Product With A Slight Oops! Great combo, but it comes with the P111 charger, which is a 12-hour slow charge, not the 1-hour that the description states. I contacted Customer Service (Darby) and all was resolved within fifteen minutes, with a 1-hour charger being supplied. A great Customer Service Representative and reflective of The Paradigm in Home Improvement Centers, Home Depot. Thanks to Darby and Home Depot, where I will continue to do all my shopping. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ryobi 18v tools I have a lot of Ryobi 18v tools. The tools are good quality and prices are low enough to have a complete set for a resonable price. I have only had a few problems and found it was cheaper just to replace instead of repair. The only problem I have with Ryobi is the cost of replacement batteries. Even when they came out with the lithium (green) line, the original batteries are still $30 each. Cheaper to buy another tool and bettery. January 10, 2011
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by HD description wrong - NOT a one hour charger! seems like a great drill, but the item description (as of 12/7/09) claims that this item ships with a one-hour charger. in fact, the charger in this package is ryobi model P111. this is a 12-hour charger, not a one-hour charger. to home depot's credit, the customer service rep i spoke with was quite glad to submit a missing parts request in an effort to have a one hour charger shipped to me some time in the next 3 weeks. hopefully it will arrive.
