The Corner Cat finish sander fits really well in my hand and has minimum vibration. It was exactly what I needed to get into the corners and grooves of the old chest so I could distress it and apply silver-leaf to the drawers. The final project is so beautiful! I use the sander for other art projects as well. After I apply liquid glass to my functional art (paper mosaic) I use the sander to remove the harden drips along the bottom of the piece. It is so easy to maneuver and hold and works very fast.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cody Sanded my 28 cabinets and 14 drawers with this one sander
This sander is all around great. I completely refinished all my kitchen cabinets, door, and drawers with this one sander by itself. I then, rebuilt my stairs and handrail with red oak, and sanded all of it with just this one sander. It works really well, even compared to my more powerful orbital sanders. It is very light, compared to most sanders, but heavy enough that it doesn't bounce around easily like other light corner sanders, and it is built with excellent gripping ability which is a big problem with most corner sanders as the grip area is too small usually to get a good hold on the sander which results in your hand cramping really bad really fast when using most corner sanders. I did not have that problem at all with this sander, it is perfect to hold and handle, and did everything i needed it too. I would definitely recommend this sander, even over more expensive ones.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by RandiC probaly the most effective tool I have ever bought
From my first use I was stunned at how much better this was than any sander I had ever used. I'm buying them for my kids now. I know it sounds like hyperbole. I can't think of think I would change. It would be the first sander I would get as a starter.
I refinished this 1800s table, scratched and stained with ink with this sander.

The Ryobi Corner Cat is one amazing sander. It works exactly as advertised. I bought one last week after reading all of the other positive reviews for this item, and boy am I glad that I did. I used it for 8 hours this past weekend (4 on saturday, 4 on sunday) and it worked flawlessly. Good, solid construction and simple to use. It even comes with a bunch of sanding papers so you can use it right out of the box. I know that Ryobi is typically only considered "middle of the road" as far as their drills and saws compared to DeWalt or Milwaukee, but this palm sander is top notch. Highly recommended!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by renovator Surprisingly good sander, horrible dust collecting bag.
I love the "iron" shape design and power of this sander. Great for finishing off wall corners that are impossible to do with a round orbital, and far more convenient than a sheet sander. The downside to this sander is the dust collection bag.. unless you hook this sander up to a vacuum, you'll have dust everywhere when taking down compound/plaster. I immediately threw the bag into the garbage and only use a vacuum with it now, which eliminates the dust problem. Still, the size, shape, and power of this sander makes it a tremendous value. A really good buy.

This LIGHT DUTY corner sander is perfect for LIGHT DUTY sanding. It worked fine for sanding a flat odd shaped railing. I did find I needed to press down on the sander at some points as it would not sand all the way down to the wood. The manufacturer recommends you NOT press down on it. I think this is why some people break them or go through the sand holding pads so quickly. That and they are not using it as light duty. I did not bother using the dust bag, I used a shop vac.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Jessica Great value! I definitely recommend!
I originally bought this sander as a gift for my mom who was constantly borrowing my sander. I had a Skil sander, but because this was a finish sander, I thought it would better suit my mom's needs (refinishing furniture). However, after she used it a few times, she told me it made my sander seem like a piece of junk. She's right. After I gave hers a try, I bought myself one immediately. I've used it to sand raw wood, finishes off of furniture, and rust off of metal. It's great. I haven't used my old sander once since I got this one. Definitely a great value.

I bought this sander to get into corners and crevices my finishing sander couldn't get to. Out of the box it did what I wanted for about an hour. After that, the velcro pad the sanding pad attaches to started to wear at the tip, I think, and now when I rotate a pad the sander doesn't hold it that well. I find I have to use a NEW sanding pad to get it to grip right. Ryobi says if the velcro starts to slip, "brush" the velcro and the back of the sanding pads, but they don't include a brush (?) and don't even say what kind of brush. A paintbrush? Toothbrush? Nail Brush? Perhaps a hair brush? The instruction would be more functional if Ryobi provided the correct brush or gave the consumer a clue as to exactly what that would be.
