Sure does Buddy and I would make sure that you don't lose it because the bit is sized to fit the corner. The door hinge template comes with an indent to secure the bit so utilize that so that it is always available otherwise you will be wasting time trying to find a replacement bit.

Yes, it comes with everything you need except the router. I use a dewalt "trim" router and med power dewalt plunge router with this template. I have used a competitor's template for years, but this Ryobi template is easier to use and just a better jig in every respect.

No. The jig is designed to fit over and clamp to the door. However as explained my a reviewer in the review section, you can use this jig to make a door jamb jig. Takes a few minutes and would be reusable. If you're a pro, doing lots of doors and jambs, buy a more professional kit ($250 +).

Also, if you are replacing doors, typically you would not mill the door jamb. Just transfer the mortise positions from the old door to the replacement door, and you are golden. Beauty of the Ryobi design, is that the open / cut area of the jig makes it easy to align the jig accurately to the marked lines. Perfect match to the jambs every time! Read Less

This product is designed to fit over the edge of a door so you can route the door edge for hinges. It isn't designed for routing jambs and I don't think that there is any way that you could use it for that purpose as there is no way to mount it to a door jamb.

Not directly, but read carefully the review of this product by Pro named DBDWF. He explains how to use the Ryobi template to make a wooden template for door jamb mortises. You will need a table saw to implement his method. He did not, however, explicitly say how he fastened the wooden template to the door frame, but a couple of small nails should work.

If you are asking what bit to use, one is included. It stores on the jig itself. It is visible through the top of the clear plastic of the packaging. It is a 1/4-in top bearing flush cut bit. Guide bearing is same diameter as the cutter.

The template comes with a router bit including the collar to use with it. The router bit has a 1/4" (common) shank which fits most routers. There is a storage slot on the template to keep the bit with the template which is handy.

I don't know much about a laminate trimmer, but I'm afraid the base plate would not be large enough to keep it steady on the jig.
Yes Ryobi makes a jig to drill out for your latch or door knob. But I have never seen a jig for the stick plate.

For the unknowing, a laminate trimmer is just a small version of a router intended for trimming the edges of countertop laminates. It works very well for door and cabinet hinge work.
No, for the door frame. The unit is for door carcass hinges only. No way to use directly on the frame. You will have to go to something like a Milescraft (or identical Sears Craftsman) kit. Useful, but nothing as easy and simple as this Ryobi jig.
No for latch plates, but Ryobi door lock installation kits include templates and a bit for latch and strike plates. Again, your laminate trimmer would be the ideal routing tool. Read Less

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by nice additon to my toolbag when remodeling the product was easy to use. The unit had easy instructions to follow. The mortise was easier than doing it by hand with a chisel. August 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great jig to all the nay sayers, I had trouble at first. The trick is to properly position your router on top of the jig flat , dont try to make your cut with the door laying flat stand it on its side Then just follow the guide on the jig keeping your eye on your work. I just installed 8 doors with this plastic tool I have had it for over 4 years and I have not torn the jig up. Just be gentle. August 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Door hinge template Works as advertised. Used a ryobi router and the included bit and ended up with a perfectly cut hinge for 3 doors. It does seem a bit flimsy, long term durability would be questionable if true tool was "really" used. August 17, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Average precision Better than the old ones that you had to nail into the door. However, the top is not perfectly even when you mover the router over it. So the cut ends up being slighly off in depth. It is managable though. August 9, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Leaves something to be desired I purchased a template that was another brand that would work on the doors as well as the frames. I returned this product and made a wood template. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pro looking results Very easy to use. Setup is fast. Very portable. I wished I bought this sooner! July 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great purchase indispensable tool Door Hinge Template worked exactly like it was suppose to. I was able to select the depth and used the template to route out the correct hinge. very easy to use amd save me a great deal of time. July 29, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Found it difficult to use well I had a 3" rectangular hinge area that I wanted to deepen on a custom made sauna door in order to pull the door back more true; over time it had canted slightly to make it hard to close the door. Rather than sand down the edge, I decided to deepen the hinge. I had no problem with making the jig rectangular and 3" wide, but the width of the hinge was less than I could adjust the jig by. Also, the plastic gets chewed up by the router bit when pushed against. The upshot is that I completed the job using wood chisels, and they did a great job. So I'd say if you've got a rectangular hinge, the chisel works great; if rounded hinges, I'd still try the jig first. May 21, 2016
