This is the drill set to buy, considering ALL online retailers, other hardwares stores, even discount retailers. I checked all places and this Ryobi Drill Set is the winner for price. The quality is just a bonus. Trust me, if there is a cheaper set, it's probably missing some of the smaller bits, or doesnt have as many bits.
Sleek, compact, sturdy case. I dropped the case from about 4 feet and it didnt even crack.
Pick up several of these drill bit kits and give them out for Christmas presents. They appear to have a value much higher than what it's actually sold for.
This drill pack is HSS Quality. The bits are sharper and more durable. Im not sure exactly what that stands for but google it and they can tell you. I do know for a fact that this is higher quality than steel.
So this drill set is made of a material that is one grade higher than other 'beginner level' drill sets. For a beginner/intermediate user, theres nothing to be gained by spending more money for a drill bit set made of higher grade material. Unless you are drilling through masonry every day, you should be buying a specific-use set. Save your money, go with this drill bit pack.
Other comparable products:
Craftsman had a nice compact case, about the size of a large index card but 2 inches thick, I loved the compact case, but the bit was stainless steel quality (not as good as this set, HSS) and it was nearly triple the price. I know Ryobi sounds Japanese, and you want to buy American, but do the American thing, use the money you would've spent on the other brand, and buy burgers to grill.
What this is used for:
Perfect for the weekend DIY, even the lumber professional. The bits are very sharp and very durable. Still sharp after many uses. Its so sharp that for my ultra fine projects, when I'm drilling into plastic, I will use the drill bit with my hands, my two fingers, thumb and index finger. It's that sharp where the bit will still cut thru wood, metal, plastic if I put enough force behind it.
What not to use this for:
The small drill bits should not be used to drill deep, more than half way into something like steel or even a 4x4, you'll bend the bit and it'll be your fault. Its not because the material is bad or the drill is poor quality, its just nearly impossible for something to retain that toughness while its so thin, unless you want to pay a ton more money.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Jessica Essential for my toolkit.
This kit is great for the price. I use it with almost all of my projects around the house. I would definitely buy again, and would recommend it. I did break one of the drill bits that I use the most on a fencing project that I was doing, and when I replace that particular size/type of bit, I will probably spend a little more and get a higher quality single bit to put in this pack. But, for the variety of sizes and types of bits, this kit is great!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Amanda Great set of bits!
I recently purchased a new home, and have needed different size drill bits for hanging things all around the house. I love this set because it contains different sizes as well as different types of metal for drilling through several types of materials
