Customer Questions & Answers

how do you remove the old roller from the two end plastic pieces?

It says i can use any 9 inch roller. Need the two plastic pieces off to place on a new roll.
Asked by: hjc0414
Just lift on the side where the roller has a simple push and click in the hole. Simple detach.

Customer Reviews

Duet Power Paint Tool System is rated 2.1 out of 5 by 86.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Most horrid piece of equipment ever I purchased this in hopes that it would help me with my wifes color changing addiction. I want to say that this is the most horrid piece of equipment ever offered to a "do it yourselfer". The instructions should say: 1.) Place tarp around area you wish to paint. 2.) Place tarp over everything you own. 3.) Wear a full face mask and paint naked. Paint will be everywhere except the walls. It drips paint at all settings and all angles. I had paint IN my shoe. Cleaning it is a maddening process as well. This product was obviously designed on a cocktail napkin, in a bar, late on a Friday. Unless you are painting your floor, avoid this monstrosity. It is horrific.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Practical Joke Okay, where is the hidden camera ? There is no way someone actually thought this would work right? I am sitting here covered in paint with this machine sputtering. The only logical explanation is this is some kind of practical joke. Come on guys, show yourselves....I hear's the machine. OMG. I have wasted money. I should have just painted with a manual roller. Just take several dollar bills, wad them up into a ball, and dip into the paint bucket. You will still save your money and get a better paint job than this disaster !!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from worked perfect....for a couple hours Used it to paint a room at church. Painted ceiling perfectly. When starting walls, noticed pump was sucking paint but nothing coming out of roller. 5 min later, paint comes out alright. Out of the units cracks, the vents I had no way of stopping it. I have never screamed so many profanitites in the house of the Lord. Do yourself and your religion a not buy this. You are much better doing it the old fashioned way!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful Here is a simple tutorial for replicating the results achieved by using the Duet paint system: 1) Open a can of paint. 2) Stir to mix completely. 3) Place opened can in the middle of the room. 4) Kick the can as hard as you can. 5) Continue kicking the can around the room until it has completely covered the entire space with random splotches of paint. Do not buy this item.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What a mess! Worst money I ever spent on painting equipment. This machine pumped paint onto everything except the wall I was painting. I spent a whole morning cleaning up the mess it made and cleaning the machine so that I could return it. The hoses come off within minutes of turning on the pump. No one could write a review that overstates how bad a product this is. I can only assume that anyone who gave it over a one works for Ryobi.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from HORRIFIC i NOW HAVE TO REPLACE A $2000 CARPET THANKS TO RYOBI AND THEIR DUAL PAINTER (MODEL FPR200). What a piece of junk!!!! I am normally a Ryobi fan but they blew it on this one. I agree with the person who said it was designed on a napkin, at a bar, late on a Friday night. DO NOT BUY!!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk The design concept is great, but it is constructed very poorly. I loved the ideas of no thinning, working from a standard 1 gallon can, reversing the suction to clean, that it uses standard rollers and the two person functionality. All great ideas! I bought this even after reading the negative reviews, since I thought I could work around the shortcomings, which i did such as turning the flow control way down to start in order to avoid dripping and splatter. The product worked great for 1/2 of a 12' x 15' bedroom. Then the motor started to strain and eventually stopped altogether. I think the Behr Ultra Premium paint that I was using was just too much for the flimsy pump motor to handle. I used a fresh gallon of paint, so there was no junk from prior use to clog the system. This could be a great product if the components were improved and it is built better. Until Ryobi comes out with a "new and improved" version, don't even think about buying it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Timesaver to disaster! Having just relocated to a new home and having used a friend's Ryobi power paint roller without problem, I quickly purchased one online for painting several rooms. Carefully read all the directions and started. Within minutes I had a dripping mess from the handle, the trigger, the connection at the base of the handle, etc. What a mess!!! No adjustment to the flow rate or even turning off the power would stop the paint from dripping from all parts of the handle!! Never again! Back to the traditional roller and pan!! No instructions on troubleshooting but you can call technical support.....really, in the middle of a mess like that?
