Customer Questions & Answers

What is the most preferred type of trmmer head shaft configuaration, Curved or Strait?

Asked by: Scootter
That depends on the application a straight shaft is better for larger open areas, edging and commercial use because of the various attachments. A curved shaft is better for light duty yard work and is lighter in weight.

compatability with the Troy bilt TB22EC

Is this attachment plug in compatible with the Troy bilt TB22EC ???????
Asked by: Fred
Just bought one today for my TB22EC, it says on the box that it works with Troy-Bilts that accept attachments(along with at least 10 other brands). I haven't actually used it in the yard yet, but I did start it and make sure it at least spun. It was a little tight putting it into the coupler, but it did snap in place. Taking it off however was pretty difficult. Bonus points for the easy spool head.

does exand-it fit to click link ryobi 132r

have a great working ryobi 132r but spool and bum head is failing
Asked by: hacksaws7
Yes this shaft should fit most any ryobi trimmer and as for the head, not to be insulting or funny but If you aren't using the stock head check out how you installed it, I've seen way to many guys put a different head on the shaft on upside down so they can get a better and closer trim. the head wears out to quick

Customer Reviews

Expand-It 17 in. Universal Curved Shaft String Trimmer Attachment is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 94.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk This product will fail the first few times you use it - NOT BY ACCIDENT. The cap at the bottom of this consists of a metal bolt that screws into the bottom of the shaft. You will need to remove this cap every time the string gets stuck or broken, which is frequent. The problem is that the metal bolt is inside of a plastic "nut" around it, which is made of cheap plastic and VERY EASILY strips whenever you need to remove this end cap. I have to believe that this is a very common problem, and I have no doubt that Ryobi and Home Depot are and have been aware of this problem because once the plastic cap is stripped (as it soon will be) you will have to purchase another unit or pay for "service". For me, it appears to be planned and I don't recommend anybody purchase this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage I've owned several trimmers (both gas & electric) and this one is absolute garbage. Line does not advance like the bump type. Each time line gets too short you must turn it off, loosen the head and manually pull line out, retighten, restart. To make matters worse, the line breaks or wears out extremely quick. I have to pull line out about every 25' of trimming (sooner if I come to a post or similar obstacle. Also, very poor instructions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect fit My Toro stringtrimmer attachment broke, so I picked up this replacement. It fit perfectly and I was back to work in no time. Incidentally the other big box store doesn't carry it.

Difficult to review the trimmer attachment because our Ryobi power head won't start. Could not recommend Ryobi products. Granted, they are inexpensive, but they're very low quality and do not last.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent attachment I am going on my third season of with this trimming attachment. I purchased my curved attachment at the same time I purchased the Ryobi power-head, as the combo with the curved shaft was out of stock at the time. Nevertheless, this attachment has performed flawlessly throughout the rigors of my woods and yard. The reel design can sometimes make it difficult to thread new line into the spool, so I generally take the extra step and disassemble the reel to thread the line, then winding line into the spool is a cinch. I am very happy with my attachment [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Change the Head I agree with all other posters regarding the Stringer Head and the string breaking. I picked up a universal head that uses pre-cut lengths of a much heavier gauge string and lasts 5 times longer. I then picked up a whole reel of string and cut my own desired lengths and saved a bundle of money. Carry a couple of strings in your pocket and take a few seconds to remove and replace the broken string due to fences etc. I also picked up a universal brush cutter head for about $12 and it cuts like a champ. I do also have the expand-it Hedge Trimmer Attachment and works great especially need the additional reach it offers. I've attached a photo for your review. Enjoy.
