Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by TomJ Great line trimmer replacement method!
I purchased this attachment along with the PowerHead to replace my very heavy Hosqvana 125R. See my review under the PowerHead description.
The trimmer line replacement is so easy. However, if used properly (not in brush or berry bushes) the .095 line will not have to be replaced very often. If you have ever tried to re spool the traditional method you will appreciate this 'fool proof method"! I purchased a spool of line to cut my own 11 in. strings (much cheaper than pre-cut).
Very easy to attach and disassemble from power head for transport or to change to a different attachment.
A Winner - 5 STARS!

I have a 10 year old Ryobi 725re string trimmer / power head. Last season the bump head came to pieces while I was trimming and I was unable to source replacement parts for any reasonable price (parts were going to be around $85). The power head still works well and I have an edging tool that I still use with it.
I happened to be at the Home Depot looking for a replacement trimmer when I found the new line of Click-Link attachments. It looked like it would fit and the sales associate thought it likely would work. I looked at the other reviews here on the Home Depot site and other users seemed to like it. I decided that for the price ($49) I couldn't go wrong.
I got it home and it fit right away with no problems. I fired up the trimmer and was really happy with how well it worked. Another buyer mentioned that he thought his trimmer had more power with this attachment, and I agree. The attachment uses fixed line segments instead of a bump-head, so there's less to go wrong, and I was able to trim 80% of my lawn before I needed to replace the strings. The unit comes with a few replacements to get you going, and I think I can use up my old spool of line by cutting it into 11" pieces too.
Because of the straight shaft, the trimmer has more reach too, and the guard is much heavier construction than on my old trimming head.
Great product, very happy with it! I would recommend this to a friend or family member.

It worked ok until it was time to re-string. I am a strong guy and I couldn't get the cap off to re-string. I was told to put the string in the hole and let it wind but that doesn't hold the string and it doesn't feed the line. I wish I would've spent more money to get the whole toro weed trimmer. Trying to save a few dollars is costing me more in the long run.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by dmeinpa Home Depot website is wrong !
Home Depot Website says that .08" line is recommended, but the owners manual says "Use only .095 in. trimmer line." When you use the thinner line, the line doesn't feed properly, and the line constantly gets clogged in and around the cutting head; forcing you to remove and un-assemble the head in order to unclog it and replace the line.

I was skeptical at first and was looking for a cheaper alternative to the "How many lawn tools do I need to buy syndrome!" until I looked into the complete EXPAND-IT system. Al I can say is I recommend this to everyone. The FIT is great, worked correctly right out of the box, and the best part... The system works together and like the name implies... EXPANDable.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Paulez Review of straight shaft trimmer attachment
I just purchased the ryobe brush cutter with the intent of taking advantage of the flexibility of the expand it line. Truthfully; I was a lillte skeptical. The brush cuttler was magnificent. Ok: here comes the let down on the trimmer attachment. Wrong! With the attachment, the trimmer has the feel, power, and performance of a commercial trimmer at 3 times the cost.
Great job Ryobi

I originally purchased the trimmer with the curved extension but due to my height ( 6'2" ) i found I needed the straight extension to relieve back pain.
It was very easy to switch out and I really like the auto feed on the head.
I thought the price was too high but isn't everything these days.
I feel comfortable recommending this product.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Kate WASTE OF YOUR MONEY... DON'T PURCHASE THIS ONE!
I had problems with this trimmer attachment since day one. It does not feed the line and gets stuck constantly and is impossible to cut the grass. I constantly readjust the string but it kept getting stuck. I called the service line and they told me to take it to a repair shop. When I got it home from the shop the trimmer still did not work! I am going to contact them for a credit or refund or else because this was a waste of time and money. Avoid this problem do some research and buy another product.
