Rated 5.0 out of 5.0Â by keeneym Worth The price. Powerful enough for my small yard
I have a small yard and this trimmer worked well to finish the entire yard. The edger worked great as well. It was easy to assemble but some parts seemed loose or weak.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0Â by Patrick More than enough power
I bought this combo on sale for about $200. At the time it was only $20 more than the trimmer alone, so it was a no-brainer for me. After two hard uses, I would recommend this product without hesitation. The battery charges quickly and usually still has about 75% charge after trimming and edging my small yard. I was pleasantly surprised with the power. It bogs down less than my old 2-stroke and is much quieter. It's also noticeably lighter. The best thing about it is that I no longer have any 2-stroke gas/oil mix or maintenance to deal with.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0Â by JJ01463 More powerful than I thought it would be!
It was a little heavier than I expected for a battery operated tool. I'm female, 5'6", 104 pounds and fairly strong for my size but the gas powered weed-whackers tend to be much too heavy, this one was still manageable though and I used it for about 30 minutes straight. My arms were pretty tired after but I am sure the vibration definitely adds to that.
It turned out to be more powerful than I expected based on the other reviews and that it is battery operated. I have about an acre of yard and fairly average weeds in general. I also did an overgrown back path and it handled it very well, even with wild raspberries and fairly thick weeds.
I'm happy with the purchase and I think it will do well for my needs with the size of my yard and for personal use. It is pretty sturdy so I think it would handle heavier use than I will need.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0Â by Don32081 Battery-Powered Edger / Trimmer Will Replace Your Gas-Powered Equipment
This trimmer / edger is well built, relatively lightweight and easy to use. The motor provides ample power for trimming thick grass and weeds. The power of the edger attachment was a very pleasant surprise. It took two passes to complete the first edging; adjusting the edger blade to go a bit deeper on the second pass. After that, edging has been a quick single pass. The battery has never gone below 50% after edging / trimming for about 30 minutes in my yard. If you want to do away with multiple gas-powered tools and you have a normal size yard, this tool is the way to go. Highly recommended.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0Â by ATBNormanOK Initial Impressions Comparing to Kobalt 40V Trimmer
The wife and I are building our first home after living in apartments for years. I am purchasing my first set of lawn care tools ever. I had purchased the Kobalt 40V string trimmer since Lowe's had a sale where you received a free extra battery. There was a lot to be desired from the Kobalt trimmer (i.e. the balance was terrible, handles and grips felt cheap, and there was not enough rubber grip on the handles.)
This trimmer has a very unique sound, like a cordless drill crossed with an r/c car or plane. However the dual .080" line and bump feed is exactly what I wanted. I hated the autofeed feature from the Kobalt product and the line on the Kobalt was very thin .065". This product also seems to be of higher quality on the parts than the Kobalt tool. Height is about 5'9" vs. the 6'1"of the Kobalt tool. As a plus the power head has a divot on the back side of the battery to hang on a hook in the garage so it is not on the floor.
As for the edger the tool spins the attachment just fine. Once our house is completed I am excited to try this system for real. Initial impressions using it on the small area of grass around the apartment seems like the machine has a good amount of power to cut and manicure the yard. I promptly returned the Kobalt product to Lowe's.
