I have this, the chain saw attachment and the trimmer. This is a very useful tool so far. It cuts well in just about anything up to about the size of your index finger as long as you have the RPMs up. Anything bugger than a finger takes a good smash to lop it off. I have had it rotate on the shaft if you try something bigger, like slip 90 degrees around the shaft at the locking mechanism, but I was testing how well it works. A good tool.

We are using it on our Toro trimmer and it works great. We have a ditch that grows heavy with bullrushes at the back of our property. It is just what we needed to trim them down.

The brush cutter attachment worked well with my Homelite Easy Lite 26vt power head. As others have stated, it takes a few seconds to power up to full speed and the blade is not sharp. But the momentum easily whacks down small brush and saplings.
I found that it worked better if I swung the head back and forth like a sickle. That seems to cut the underbrush better including the vines and brambles which would tangle otherwise. Several small saplings were 1/2-inch in diameter and the brush cutter whacked them down at the base. The head hit rocks and sparks flew; however, the blade is heavy enough not to chip or ding the blade. If it was thinner and sharper it may have took a divot out of the blade.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by PaddleFaster Outstanding for light brush cleanup
I recently did a one man volunteer project at a local park cleaning up an area to improve it's eye appeal as well as create an access point for building a public kayak launch area. This simple $69 brush cutter attachment was used for 99% of the brush cleanup. Mixed amongst the brush was broken pieces of concrete, rocks, bottles, plastic bags and about ten years of other refuse that had accumulated under the growth.
For this reason more expensive park owned equipment couldn't be used.
The results are shown in the pictures below...

I bought the brush cutter to get rid of some palmetto bushes that grow here in north Florida. It is difficult, and dangerous, to try and get underneath with a chain saw. This brush-cutter cut right through the base of the plants and I could do the job standing with my trimmer and this attachment providing the reach I needed. And the Ryobi Brush-Cutter fit my Troy-Built trimmer perfectly.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JKevin Oh yeah, a must have for anyone with property!
I've let my back yard go for the last 7 months Because I was unemployed and unable to afford to get my mower fixed. Today I cleared some of it with ease! Bunches of 1-2" pulpy stalks cleared with a single swipe. Gonna get a early start tomorrow and clear more, as I was having that much fun! Get one, you won't be sorry!

I recently purchased a new home that backs to a forever wild area. The former owners. had let the heavy brush, vines and bamboo encouch quite a distance onto my property.
I didn't want to purchase a gas cutter because of it's. weight or a battery cutter as I had problems with replacing batteries. on other tools. I was very impressed with the way this brush cutter devoured the btush, vines and bamboo. It did an excellent job in a very dense area with ease.. I did however, need to let the cutter cool off several times but I expected this because of the density of. the brush. I am completely satisfied with my purchase.
