Sure... as long as the motor shaft accepts expand-it accessories you could use anything from that line.

Answer:
It can only be used on the Ryobi units that are specifically designed to receive attachments. If your Ryobi weed eater can come apart at about mid shaft by releasing a clamping handle and pushing in a detent than yes it should work. To be on the safe side check your model number and ask the sales clerk if the attachment will work on your unit.

Hi wayner,
Yes, this attachment is compatible with all Ryobi split-shaft trimmers.
Since the curved section of shaft is removed and replaced with the straight shaft of the brush cutter attachment, the brush blade will work on your trimmer.

No, they sell a separate string trimmer attachment. This is a dedicated brush cutter.

Answer:
I've been able to attach it to two different Ryobi heads, a Cub Cadet head, and an Homelight head. I believe it's universal. The attachment drive is the male end (there is a small square rod inside the tube). All of the heads I have tried it on have a female square receiver inside the powerheads tube.

Well... you would because it would mean you have one attachment that would serve both needs. I have had "weed eaters" that did both before and they worked just fine both ways. So, is this answer a fact or opinion?

Answer:
No. Why would you. If you had the Expand-it head, whether it be gas or 40V, the attachments are geared differently for different tasks. Buy the Straight string line trimmer attachment Model # RY15523. It's 60 bucks and works well. Be sure to order extra string line on-line as it's not carried in the stores yet.

Answer:
No. The Toro 51480 is a electric trimmer that has a telescoping head. The shaft does not detach. 2 completely different tools. Look at the specs on line for your Toro trimmer. You're Toro trimmer is not made for attachments... from any manufacturer.

I have a Poulan Pro PP125 weed trimmer. Need a good attachment to cut brush and heavy weeds. I am interested in using the Ryobi Expand-It 8 inch brush cutter. Thought maybe someone had tried it on their Poulan. Thanks for any help you may be able to offer.

The way the shafts connect look the same from what I saw in your user manual, but are the shafts the same diameter and do the drive shafts match internally. I would take your trimmer to the Home Depot and ask an associate if they can help you look at a Ryobi attachment out of the box

Sorry, I used it only on the Ryobi weed trimmer. Take the Poulan Pro PP125 into Home Depot and see if it fits. If it does it should work well.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 132 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good cutter, but lade needs a cutting edge. Just bought this cutter today, and the first thing i noticed is what another reviewer stated; the blade has Zero (0!) Sharpness. Its completly blunt. I tried it for a few minutes and it tries to beat the brush to death instead of cutting it. I took the blade off and put a cutting edge on it with an angle grinder, and presto!, much better! What are these designers thinking? Safety? Thats like putting a lawn mower blade on your mower with a flat edge. It wont cut hot butter. So except for a simple mod, its a pretty good tool. A little pricey, but now it works well enough. Lets see if it holds up. May 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by RYOBI Brush cutter I really like the tool it cuts So good saves me a lot of time April 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Expand it Brush Cutter Attachment I bought this to cut some heavy brush. It was a good size area. It took me about 4 hours over 2 days to complete. The brush was really thick. At the end of the job, the blade was completely dull. But I worked it very hard, so I was not disappointed about it. I will need a new blade to use it again, but the attachment performed well and is easy to connect and disconnect from the trimmer base. I used it on a Troy-bilt trimmer base with no issue. It is a good buy. April 4, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A good intermediate tool This is a good intermediate tool. In a tight area where a larger machine would be awkward to use and the brush is too tough for a sting weed-eater would be over powered this brush-cutter trimmer is the ring in the bell.....It is a tool the user has to operate with good tool skills and safety practices. It will take the brush right down to the dirt level, and with that I recommend to anyone who considers such a tool. April 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by brush with destiny i cut like a mad man for 30 minutes straight clogging and unclogging cutter and killing electric motor time after time along the way. cutter attachment and 40 v set up worked like a champ. arnie in "predator". "c'mon do it now" April 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good tool Worked very well ,trimmed 1/8" to 5/8" sticker bush easily, cut clean no bounce back April 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Does a great job for what it was designed to do The brush cutter attachment worked well with my Homelite Easy Lite 26vt power head. As others have stated, it takes a few seconds to power up to full speed and the blade is not sharp. But the momentum easily whacks down small brush and saplings. I found that it worked better if I swung the head back and forth like a sickle. That seems to cut the underbrush better including the vines and brambles which would tangle otherwise. Several small saplings were 1/2-inch in diameter and the brush cutter whacked them down at the base. The head hit rocks and sparks flew; however, the blade is heavy enough not to chip or ding the blade. If it was thinner and sharper it may have took a divot out of the blade. July 18, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This thing is like a light saber on vines! Put this attachment on my Ryobi power head and headed to the back 40. It cut through the multi flora rose like a hot knife through butter. Not the best on 2 inch or larger trees, but that's what a chainsaw is for. This thing is great on heavy weeds and vines. Any brush smaller than 2 inches goes down easy too. Great product for the price. Frankly, I was skeptical about it, but it's a really good tool! March 16, 2016
