ONE+ 18-Volt 1-1/2 in. Cordless Hand Planer (Tool Only) is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 49.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Very Cool Tool! If you work on or with. interior, exterior wood doors or wood gates, this baby is a real time saver. I use to break out the belt sander for plaining but, it was never accurate and was hard to maintain a semi squared edge, not to mention heavy and messy too. This lightweight and very powerful tool trims wooden door and gate edges like butter. Tip: Watch out for recessed finishing nails just below the wood surface when plaining. Yea, I have hit a few nails, screws, railroad spikes (not really) and the tool still cuts perfect with it's original blade. I am sure there are many other uses for this plainer that I will discover. Highly recomended and doesn,t need belt changes like a sander.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handy Planer Working in the construction industry, I often have to plane down studs to allow for straighter drywall installation. I was excited when I saw this planer, as it is inconvenient to run a cord into a house when you are doing a walkthrough. Well let me tell you that this planer was created for just such purposes! It is extremely responsive, starting at full speed, and turning off immediately. I have the lithium batteries, but wanted to try it on the standard battery to test the running time. I planed 20 studs in the house I tried it on with the standard battery, and it showed no signs of slowing down! The cutting wheel is 2" wide, making it perfect for just such projects. The bag attachment is a cool bonus - catches about 80% of the shavings. If you work with warped studs, or have small areas that need shaving, this is the perfect tool for you. Go Ryobi!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This product was effecient and worked as claimed I bought this product to plane drawers that did not fit correctly. The planer worked very well and the drawers fit nicely. I look forward to using it for other projects.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 18 Volt Ryobi Hand Planer This is a very nice addition to my One Plus tools. It quickly trimmed all my sticking doors. The dust bag is fairly efficient but some dust does get by. I was planning on buying a belt sander for this job but I am glad I got the planer instead.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product for the price Used it to trim some doors and it did an excellent job. Decent battery life but they did heat up quite a bit.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Difficult To Use I replaced a Bosch 18 volt planer with this one since I had purchased a bunch of new Ryobi tools as my Bosch tools were all individually dying after 9 years of "very" light use. This unit is much smaller than I expected. I found using it far more difficult to use than my older Bosch. It was difficult to gauge where it would start and when it would finish and it has a very poor depth capability - meaning it takes very little off even when cranked all the way up. Nice and handy for shaving down small pieces, such as sides to a drawer or the bottom of a door but again difficult to figure out the start and stop point without cutting in too late or mauling your work piece as you finish the stroke.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The handle is comfortable and the tool provides a smooth cut Ryobi tools are always great quality and this 18V planer is no different. The handle/grip is very comfortable. The tool provides a smooth surface when planed. I just wish this tool had been available in the store instead of only online - I would have bought it sooner.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not bad, but could be better I really wanted to be happy with this tool I have a lot of other Ryobi One+ tools and batteries so I spent a bit more for this planer versus the Ridgid version. Unfortunately, the max pass depth of 1/32 inch is too frustrating for my likes. The tool itself works great. It feels good in the hand, is easy to use, and has plenty of power for planing antique solid oak doors and leaving a smooth surface, but it may take several passes to get the planed depth you desire. It is a bit smaller than the Ridgid cordless planer which makes it a bit more convenient.
