I saw a video on YouTube from Ryobi that showed this as a green router. The same color as all the new tools. The model that HD is the old blue model. Is the newer model different and when will it be available?

Answer:
As of this comments date it seems the newer version (R18TR-0), a lith-green "skin" version, is only available in Australia. The manual for the U.S. version, the P600G, was recently updated (Sept. 2015), but this is not necessarily an indication of whether it will be released or not. Other then metric vs. imperial specs, the rpm is the same on the newer model.

Answer:
The Ryobi Tools web site does not show a newer version. I can only assume the green version never made it to market.
It seems to me they are not promoting this tool and may even discontinue it in the future. The accessories that are mentioned in the user guide are no longer available.
My experience is that the router works well for small jobs on soft woods but goes through batteries rather quickly.

Most tables for routers have a propitiatory base. So you make your own to match.

I don't believe there is. The intent of this router is for edge routing, so it's very basic, but you could probably create a table base for it with some MDF and a hole saw, with an undermount. If you do, please post pictures. I'd like to see how that works out.

Answer:
It is only a trim router but I sure you should be able to figure out a way to mount it to a table, the face plate on the base does come off, that might get you a little more adjustment make sure you use the lithium ion battery, you'll have lots of power

As a small portable trim router, this guy excels at tasks such as routing door hinges or trimming excess laminate and other light duty "portable" tasks. It is not powerful enough, or structurally strong enough to be table mounted.

Answer:
If your not using bearing guides you could clamp on a fence to the work piece at the proper distance, and use the base to glide along it.. Other than that there are no built on edge guides (which i personally dislike). Your best off with bearing guides.

There's an edge guide available as a separate purchase. Home Depot carries this guide, I believe. On the packaging, it will list the model numbers it can be used for.
I don't believe you'll need the other base, which I've never seen. My edge guide snaps in place, but I've used it only once because I have bits with the guide wheel that I mostly use.

I reached out to Ryobi to get you an answer. Ryobi stated there currently is not an edge guide that would work with the P600.
If you were to purchase a Ryobi corded model trim router, then you could use edge guide model #TR31.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Another Great Ryobi Product First time using this type of router to trim laminate while redoing my kitchen countertops. Easy to use, long battery life with my lithium ryobi battery, and great results. Smaller size let me get very close to the walls since I was relaminating the counters in place and only had small areas to trim by hand. Bought a 3 piece laminate bit set that made the edges look professional. On/off switch could have better placement, but not a big deal. Height adjustment base opening directs debris where you want. Would be nice not to remove base to remove bits, though. As with all power tools, wear hearing and eye protection and a mask. January 27, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by "One+" of the best Ryobi tools they make! Great trimmer... AWESOME router if you add base/handles. This trimmer is compatible with the base & handles sold as replacement parts for the plug-in trimmer. You can find them on power tool parts stores... depending on shipping you can get the base plus two handles for under $30. Once you add them it is a fantastic portable router and (in my view) much more capable/usable than without the modification. Photo added of my modified trimmer. Only minor negative is the switch...a bit unwieldy to turn on/off when using as router. December 21, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great cordless trim router! There are very few cordless trim routers on the market, and this one works very well. It has ample power for any trim job ( don't try gouging a 3/4" dado in maple using this guy, but otherwise...). It is easy to adjust bit cutting depth - nothing fancy but easy and reliable and quick. Bit changing is also quick. This is my second of these tools; I have been using the first one for almost 10 years at my vacationproperty shop and it still is running great. February 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Handy dandy I am a old 4 generation pro that still get talked into doing some woodworking my self verses just consulting. I have a huge mobile work bench/cart from the day. In front of it is a low 18" 4' X 8' assembly table. On the lower level a series of large pigeon holes with routers plugged in and ready to go. The concept here is every router bot I would use had a dedicated router attached. this enabled me to go fluid on a job with out changing set ups. I have so many routers I can't count. That goes for drills, screw guns, and nailers, all with a place in this cart along with power and air. We would take this cart and bench on Architectural mill work jobs such as high end libraries and i could do finishing touches and assembly before the crew would get the part installed. The idea of cordless is wonderful but until the lithium Ion era it was depressing. This router can handle small profiles with ease. Although the days of High pressure plastic laminate (Formica) are behind me. I do use this on wood. You can't expect to much from any small router so keep this in perspective. Up to small 1/4" radius and chamfers at a proper speed are just what the doctor ordered. This is the old blue version of Ryobi so you can get it at a value. I'm thinking they have so many of them in a warehouse is why they haven't made a new green one with a few more bells and whistles. I would think a LED light more convenient access to the power switch, variable speed, brush less motors would be in the works. I would like to see a noninvasive way to store the wrench on board as well. I just wire it to the unit while storing it. The motor didn't at all on this test piece using a 1/4" radius on douglas fir. I did ther bead on the reverse side as well. My use on birch, maple, oak, just as good at the proper feed as well. But to me a router is a router unless its a bad router. This gets the job done it was intended for in a very handy way. It has gone full circle - Meaning my Great grandfathers version of a cordless profiler was a hand plane, then corded tools, now..... This is the future. March 14, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works well for battery powered tool It was very easy to add decorative trim cut to a piece of furniture I am building. Only drawback is that large router bits, 1 1/2" or bigger, will not fit with the alignment collar on. October 28, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by cordless ryobi router Very begginer DYI, want to install double french door, watch some youtube and bought this router and ryobi bit from HD. Easy to use, i did the door hinges first and fellow by the door jambs, come out really nice, my wife think look like a professional job, My toy store HD hits the home run again, cant believe life without HD.
