It depends on the length of the boring bit you use. I would say the least distance would be about 6 inchs

Depends on the lenght of the bit you're using. Just add about 3". I use an auger type bit for mine and it worked GREAT!

Answer:
I actually examined the chuck and the amount of wobble of the bit because I had read that others had had a problem and couldn't detect any in my tool.

FWIW, I tried a second drill and it had a wobbly (off center) drill chuck also. Taking this second one back to the store. This looks to be a nice drill but with some QC 'issues'.

Answer:
The drill has a variable speed motor, so it can be used for driving screws or bolts and nuts. I felt I had good control of the speed.

Hello Tom. Thank you for your question. This tool is variable speed but does not have an adjustable torque so it may not be a good fit for this purpose. Thanks for asking.

I think so, but it drops bits randomly and frequently so hard to tell. Have 3 Ryobi drills. All the same. Replacing with Bosch.

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 104 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great tool for the job This drill works great in tight spaces and handles real easy. July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Right angle drill This tool has served me well. I find it easier to use for some applications than my other, more traditional, styles of tools. I am very happy with its performance. It has given me no problems. July 20, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by not a big enough chuck--a fine drill I wanted to use this for a few 2-1/2" holes but the chuck is too small for my 7/16" Milwakee auger. too bad. I believe it has enough power to do a few., but it would push the motor.. Otherwise a fine "one speed" drill. July 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by good purchase Item arrived on time and it works very well where space is at a premium. I needed tool only since I already have an 18 volt Ryobi battery and charger. I most like the ease of changing drill bits. July 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great tool I purchased this right angle drill for a bathroom remodel and it worked great for getting into tight spots. The drill is well built and did everything I needed it to do. July 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ONE+ 18-Volt 3/8 in. Right Angle Drill (Tool-Only) Perfect for tight spaces while drilling or using as a driver. June 24, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Great idea but flawed by poor QC I purchased 2 of these drill motors and both had mis-aligned/bent chucks which caused the drill bit(s) to wobble. June 10, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by First one ever had Works great for my needs but the tool is a little heavy and bulky. Wish it were not as long. June 21, 2016
