Depends on the lenght of the bit you're using. Just add about 3". I use an auger type bit for mine and it worked GREAT!

Answer:
No. I bought the tool without a charger or battery. I already have two chargers and three batteries, so I had no need for a complete system.

Hi Tom. If you purchase just the console unit, it does not come with a charger or battery. You will have to purchase it as a combo kit. Thank you for your question!

Answer:
I actually examined the chuck and the amount of wobble of the bit because I had read that others had had a problem and couldn't detect any in my tool.

FWIW, I tried a second drill and it had a wobbly (off center) drill chuck also. Taking this second one back to the store. This looks to be a nice drill but with some QC 'issues'.

Answer:
The drill has a variable speed motor, so it can be used for driving screws or bolts and nuts. I felt I had good control of the speed.

Hello Tom. Thank you for your question. This tool is variable speed but does not have an adjustable torque so it may not be a good fit for this purpose. Thanks for asking.

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 110 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by So far, so good Haven't used this much, but so far no surrises and it functions as it should and seems very well made. Based on my experience with my other Ryobi drills I have very high expectations for this, and the compatibility with the other tools is one of the main reasons that I bought this drill. I had a Craftsman right angle drill previously, and when the battery died (would no longer hold a charge), I couldn't justify purchasing replacement batteries as they cost nearly as much as a new drill. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ryobi right angle drill I needed to get into some tight areas and this fit the bill as I have all Ryobi 18 volt tools. I am still amazed at how long the lithium batteries last. October 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wish I had purchased it sooner! Was putting a workbench together and this was the only way for me to reach areas where my drill couldn't reach. WOW! That bench was put together in no time. Wish I had purchased it sooner! I've had so many projects (cabinets, storage shelves, furniture) where this could have saved me hours. Especially where I had to drill, then screw it together. Instead of stopping to change bits I just grab the right tool now! October 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product, Well built, Handles well. Just what I expected from Ryobi, Well made, worked perfectlly, Excellent !!! October 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love it ! I love all the ryobi 18v tool line i got rid of my older dewalt ,makita and even air tools and replaced them with these Ryobi battery powered tools and when they go on sale for the 2 pack 4amp hour batteries i buy a few packs of the batteries even my table saw is now Ryobi because it is lighter and portable .Ryobi gets a thumb up for there tools been nothing but happy ! July 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great tool for the job This drill works great in tight spaces and handles real easy. July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Handy tool for hard to reach spots Handy tool for DIY projects! Goes well with rest of ONE+ 18-Volt line. Great on battery life!!! August 2, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by not a big enough chuck--a fine drill I wanted to use this for a few 2-1/2" holes but the chuck is too small for my 7/16" Milwakee auger. too bad. I believe it has enough power to do a few., but it would push the motor.. Otherwise a fine "one speed" drill. July 17, 2016
