I purchased a 18v Ryobi Chop Saw a few years ago when it was carried in my local home Depot and have been vary pleased with it. I recently purchased another one for my Vacation home. It's light and easy to use in a hurry. Works great for small jobs with trim and 2x4s. Patience needed when cutting wet pressure treated 2x4s.

I purchased this saw for small projects that I do around the house. I have used it only once at this point and it worked very well, it produced nice square cuts on some 2X4 pieces. My P106 batteries were sufficient. Do not think I will go for the more powerful P108 battery at this time. It seems well designed and produced.

I love this saw. As a general contractor I have almost always carried a miter saw with me. The problem with my other saws is that take up a lot of space in my van and it was a pain to look for power when if I only needed to make a few cuts. I bought the 12 tool combo several months ago and I'm very pleased. I've used this saw to cut and install baseboard, casing, crown moulding, 2x4, etc. this saw obviously won't cut 45' on 6" crown moulding but it works for about 95% of what I need it to on a daily basis. With the 4ahr battery I can cut all day or even several days without charging

I am a DIY and was dragging out my 12" miter saw everytime I wanted to cut 2x4's. I purchased the corded model of this saw because store didn't carry this battery powered version. Got home and saw the battery powered versiion online and returned the corded version.
I am building shelving in my new storage shed. At first I was concerned about power. It cuts 2x4's very well. You have to go a little bit slower then with my big saw, but it beats dragging out the big one. I also used it to cut trim, up to 2x4x1 and it's great. I don't have to drag out extension cord and can just grab this saw with one hand and go to where I need to cut. My daughter wants to borrow it to put up some molding trim in her house. Probably not for a contractor, but for home owner it's perfect. The laser works well and seems brighter then the one on my big miter saw.

Not as powerful as I had hoped or needed. Struggles to get through a 2x4 escpecially at an angle. Good for trim and other small lumber material but not strong enough for framing.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Woodman Great portable saw
This little saw continues to impress me. Right out of the box I was cutting 1x4 trim with ease. It took a little getting the feel for adjusting the miter angle but for such a small unit it is very accurate. The laser line definitely helps with lining up the cuts. I would recommend using larger batteries with this unit but I have tried using all of my Ryobi batteries with it and they all work well. I was able to cut 32 2x2 pickets for a handrail with one battery.
For the price this is a great little unit.

I was cutting some LEXAN plastic that kicked back and bent the fence, try to cut very slowly with these type of materials.
It's all good though, they are sending me a new fence, no charge.
I love all of my RYOBI tools..

Used it for the first time last week. Did exactly what was needed. Quick setup, 2 cuts and back in the truck. Saves me time and labor, I don't expect to cut a whole house of trim. Just finish up the 2 or 3 items the trim carpenter missed.

This is a great product, accepts the old type batteries, it's easy to carry anywhere your work takes you, easy to set up and a time saver.
I put up window trim in a heartbeat along with the Ryobi nail gun. I'm cutting tongue and groove 3 1/2 inch pine boards at 30 and 36 degrees to perfection with this saw. It stops within seconds which is saving me time compared to my 10 inch table saw in the basement, safety guards are great and the laser is a nice touch.
I had to call my son in the US who ordered this and sent it to me within 2 weeks, I tried to order it online through the Canadian website but it was on backorder with no date and would not allow me to order it even though you could only order online for this product. I hope HomeDepot works out there differences with the supplier and gets this available for all of Canadians, you are missing out on a great sales opportunity.
I'm a Ryobi product fan and look forward to more innovation from them. The greatest selling point is that you can use any of their batteries on any of their cordless products.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Captain Nice handy little saw
I was looking for a small light weight saw to be close by as I laid HW flooring and did some trim work. This saw fit the bill perfectly. I would recommend buying a good quality blade and discarding the one that came with it. You battery will go much farther and get nice smooth cuts. Other than that it is a perfect light weight trim saw. The Ryobi 18v One Plus tool set is a #1 pick as far as price/performance goes for the home owner.

Light weight , very compact for light to medium work. Can be used in close proximity to work area due to small size. Only con would be angle detents not very positive, have to hunt for them.

The saw was a outstanding purchase. It is very quiet when in use. It's lightweigh and powerful. The one thing is that it won't cut anything bigger than 4in wide. Great saw when i was doing the trim. Im sure that I will find many uses for the little mighty.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Jarednh81 Great little saw for quick small jobs!!!! Should be in stores
This little thing is great. Light and portable Great for small trim projects.
There are a lot of times when I have to cut just a few things with accuracy quick and the time it takes to set up my big 12" sliding miter saw is to long. I worried about how well it would do since it is not in stores and I could not put my hands on it. But it is made well and cuts well.
Crazy its not in stores!!!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GriffinFlooring What a Saw! Best miter saw purchased!
This saw came ready to use, right out of the box. You can adjust the fence squareness if needed, but mine was spot on. The laser is very accurate, though I have the problem with trusting it. That's just me. The dust bag does seem to collect the saw dust well. I use the high capacity 4.0ah batteries and it has all the power needed to cut the hardwood flooring and trim boards that I need from a miter saw. This is an awesome addition to my collection of ONE+ tools.
I received this saw as a gift, ( thank you Philip! )

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by rapscallion80 Portable, cuts wood.
Used this on many different sizes of wood without any problems. On the larger pieces you need to not go at it like you have a 12" saw at a construction site but otherwise a great tool. I like the lightweight, I've hauled this down to the community garden and up a couple flights of stairs. The laser is a plus, using that I was able to make acceptable cuts on extra wide boards (1x5's).

It's not the best but maybe the best for it's category. It cuts. Not too loud. Accurate. Everything works as advertised. It is too small for my liking but does not take away from this ratings. I recommend a dry vacuum for any of these type of machines even with the more expensive ones.

Should have come with a fine tooth blade, after all, it's meant to be used as finish moulding cutting tool. Had to return to the store & spend an add'l $20 for a quality fine-tooth blade. 1 screw was stripped on the blade guard when removed to change the blade. I do appreciate it being lightweight & easy to move from room to room.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by daval NOT AS GOOD AS IT WAS.
If you ever used or had the original RYOBI P550, then this is a real let down. I had my first battery opperated mitre saw for a year till it was stolen. I immediately replaced it with another P550. 5 years later it was stolen. I replaced it with the Ryobi P551. What a let down. Blade capacity is smaller.7.25 Vs.8.25. may not seem like much, Till you cut something larger than 2x4 stock or molding. You no longer get the quick release clamp, or even support bars that insert into the saw, to cut long pieces. But, you do get a nice laser to help you make those difficult straight cuts. let`s not forget the change in price point. 20-40$ more to get less. if you never had a battery opperated mitre saw, and are looking for something basic, this is it.

the saw came fast , great shipping , no problems, I like the miter saw for small projects I've had one in the past and I loved it, I wish they did not discontinue it but you know how Home Depot is like the 12 Volt Ryobi drill and circles saw and little sawzall ,they discontinued that and that was a great little tool set

The Miter saw fit into my system of Ryobi 18 volt products, I have many of them and find the portability and common battery a big advantage. I am not a professional, just a guy doing things around the yard, garage and house, For me this is a perfect product as I hate extension cords.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by JLHQUICK Nice and Light Battery Powered Miter Saw
There are a lot of things to like about the ONE+ Miter Saw. First is the weight...It is much lighter than many corded saws that I have had, even with the 4ah battery installed. Also the build of the saw seems very sturdy. The base and joints are all metal and the thickness seems adequate to prevent warping. One feature that I really like, that is different from my old Delta miter saw, is that switching to different angles is smooth and easy. All you have to do is get used to feeling for the clicks that indicate a certain angle. I also liked that I was able to get dozens of 2x2 and 2x4 lumber cuts out of it using the 4ah battery. With lighter materials, you should be able to get much more out of a large capacity battery.
There are some features that I think should have been offered.
First is that I would really like to be able to cut 2x6 lumber with this. I think that if Ryobi put a sliding mechanism on this, it would be awesome and facilitate 2x6 lumber well.
Second is the price. Why should this cost more than the corded version and almost as much as the corded 10in miter saw? It doesn't even come with a battery and charger. The only way I would see this as an excellent value is if there was a slider.
Other than those issues, I'm sure that I can get a lot of years of use out of this tool.
