LED ALternative Bulb Replacement

This question is from ONE+ 18-Volt Area Light (Tool Only)
Asked by
Fort Edward, NY

June 14, 2015
Is there an available LED Bulb replacement for this flashlight? Or a specific bulb item number that can be cross referenced online so that I can locate one? I am thinking that an LED would burn more brightly, run cooler and show brighter than a standard incandescent not to mention that it would let the battery last longer.

Answer:
The cross-reference for the bulb base is P13.5S. An LED bulb with that base and a 20V+ rating should function fine. You can search for "PR2-1WHP-30V" for one particular replacement. There is also a very-high-power bulb called "Fusion36" which is designed for this flashlight.

google 18v pr2 led bulb then select one that will support up to 20 volts, because the lithium batteries come to about 20.35 volts when fully charged. They are available for about $11. I am tempted to get one myself, but I don't know what the beam looks like with one.

Sorry, an incandescent flashlight cannot be converted to use LED's. There are too many differences: Voltage is lower for LED, an incandescent bulb uses a single filament, an LED version requires several LEDs to produce the equivalent amount of light. Then actual cost having to purchase multiple LEDs would be prohibitively high. etc. Compare an incandescent flash on Home Depot to a LED made flashlight Read More

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by It works If you all ready have the 18v batteries, you need 2 or 3 of these flashlights. Bright, sits firmly on the ground and the rotating head is great to put the light where you need it. I have three of them so multiple people can use them at the same time and when a storm is coming I make sure all of the batteries are charged. We have had to use this flashlight as dining room lighting for dinner. October 25, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Broke the first time I used it I haven't had this experience with any other Ryobi tools but this like broke the first time I used it. I literally sat it down next to me and it went out. I tried different batteries hoping that was the issue but had no luck. October 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by nice and bright October 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by this is to flashlights what wheels are to luggage An idea this useful that took so long to develop is amazing. Extremely handy when working in tight awkward quarters such as under a sink while installing a faucet. You can get the light where you need it. Ryobi scores another one. October 4, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Battery failed instantly when under house. Not LED. When I made it out,i tested it. It worked with nicad, but the lithium ion p102 battery would not charge. Not for critical situations.. kills 40dollar batteries. Under warranty... nice swivel head for angles fine brightness... September 26, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice but lacking Although the light is handy with its rotating head it is lacking in brightness. I was totally surprised that it does not have a led instead of a filament bulb. The lack on a led bulb is the reason I gave it low ratings and would not recommend it. September 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Compact, Convenient and Helpful! This was a great addition to my Ryobi tool accessories. I found it small and convenient and yet powerful enough to light the area needed in the dark. September 14, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice for the price The light Brightness is somewhat poor, but still nice product. September 5, 2016
