Yes, this is how the sanding attachment works. It is a pretty durable loop and pile and sometimes I have a tough time getting the sanding pad off.

Yes. Very easy to attach and remove. You have to pull pretty hard to remove, but that indicates it grips the sanding sheets well.

Answer:
You must use an allen wrench to change blades when using the tool head that comes in the kit. A quick change head is available for the Rigid Job Max that will fit this tool though, and it is highly recommended for professionals.

There is a quick change multi tool head (the one that comes with it requires an allen wrench to change the blades), an impact hammer, an impact driver, jig saw, scroll saw, and I think a few others. Search rigid Job Max to find the available heads.

There are at least 5 other heads available (see link below). These are Ridgid heads, but they fit the Ryobi JobPlus as well. I have both the Ridgid and the Ryobi tools, and I have no problems swapping the heads around.

Cuts through vinyl like butter! been using 4½"grinder blades like water.. bought this in one day I've more then double the speed of not only cutting vinyl but doubled+ the speed of job completions! thank you Ryobi! Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by irreplaceable part broke The piece that holds the blade on broke, its a specialty piece that you cannot buy seperatly. So the tool is now compleatly useless. May 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great multi-tool attachment Good multi-tool attachment. It got the job done of sawing off the baseboard that I needed to get removed. The cutting tool is pretty strong. I like how you can change the head of the saw so it can be in different 90 degree angle with respect to the handle. I already own the Ryobi drill and driver which also uses the 18-volt battery so I didn't have to buy an extra battery for this tool. So far, I am happy with this multi-tool. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by many uses I bought this 2 months ago for one project and have found other uses no problem. Light and easy to hold in any position. Easy to control as the vibration is not crazy or awkward. I've used it to cut wood and metal as well as the sanding attachment. May 7, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Major disappointment! After six months of ownership, and using this tool about once a week, the motor has a burnt smell, and it seizes after a couple of minutes of use. Multi tools have become a necessity for me, particularly cordless multi tools. I also own a 20 volt Dewalt. It has proved to be much more durable, and doesn't heat up as much when in use. The Ryobi has a couple of neat features. For one, it has a reversing switch. Depending on what edge I'm using to cut at an angle, using the reversing switch will pull the blade into the work piece or steer it away. A second nice feature is that the head detaches to motorize other optional tools. But considering the lack of durability, I don't think that feature has any real value. Ryobi has such great ideas with their 18 volt line of tools, but Ryobi is lacking in quality. What's strange is that Rigid tools are made by the same company and have excellent durability. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Model P570 I just purchased the newer model, P570, and tested it on some 1" x 6" off-cuts of cedar, Douglas-fir, and pine, and some 5/8" gypsum board. PROS: Good weight; well balanced; powerful; smooth, straight cuts; excellent sanding; feels rugged; adapter included for Bosch and Drimmel accessories (see photo). CONS: The wood-cutting blade will soon need to be upgraded (typical with most new-saw purchases) because it requires plenty of accuracy-compromising "persuasion" after a certain point. A few reviewers were having issues where the battery is connected. Ryobi may have addressed those issues with this newer model, but not sure. My batteries install easily and have the typical "play" (1/16–1/8"), with no signs of wear. I hope my photos help here. This tool should serve me well for years to come, with high-quality blades. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Excellent tool for all different types of jobs. I haven't even scratched the surface on the capability of this product yet and I'm thoroughly impressed. Takes a bit to get used to the proper angles and methods for cutting effectively but it's so lightweight and powerful that anyone can use it. The adaptability to other brands attachments makes this a must have for your Ryobi collection August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by price difference The tool itself is satisfactory. My main reason for buying Ryobi was I already have many Ryobi tools, so the battery fit another tool in my collection. The problem came when I went to the HD to buy it. The HD website said $59, free delivery or free in store pick up. I drove up to the HD to buy the tool. It was $69. I couldn't access the web to show the manager the price variance. He gave it to me for the lower price. I wonder how many other items are like this? Anyway, I'm off to HD to show him the web site price (i printed the page to bring it with me). July 9, 2016
