Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rjhandyman Totally pleased with my recent purchase
I purchased a Ryobi complete tool set several years ago which served me well. Over the course of time the batteries became more difficult to charge and less capable of holding a charge. They finally gave out and rendered the tool set to be powerless(pun intended). Being on a fixed income it has actually taken me a year or so to be in a financial position to replace the batteries. Over the course of a couple of years the prices came down and I was in fact able to buy a set of 2 for $99 which is a great value. It was then determined that I needed a lithium charger and I was able to pick one up at the local store for $30. I am completely satisfied with my purchase, including the extended charge time of the newer lithium battery. Both my wife and I have been extremely happy; her with the power sweep tool and me with all the other tools, especially the drill, and the 2 saws. Thanks Home Depo!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Hergules Home Depot & Ryobi should list Battery Specifications
It appears that Ryobi & HD don't list battery spec's for a reason. The bundled and promoted items usually include poorer performing (i.e. cheaper) batteries. You should ALWAYS buy one of the better (higher amp-hr) batteries for your Ryobi 18V power tools. Don't by the cheap promoted batteries.
Below are the battery specs for Ryobi 18V batteries as supplied from the tech support guy I contacted at Ryobi:
The P100 is a 1.7 amp hr nicad battery 1.99 lb
The P101 is just a 2 pack of the P100 battery
The P102 is a 1.3 amp hr lithium battery. 1.15 lb
The P104 is a 2.4 amp hr lithium battery. 1.66 lb
The P103 is a 1.5 amp hr lithium battery. 1.15 lb
The P106 is just a 2 pack of the P103 battery.
The P107 is a 1.5 amp hr lithium battery 1.15 lb
The P105 is a 2.6 amp hr lithium battery 1.79 lb
The P108 is a 4.0 amp hr lithium battery 1.79 lb.
The P109 is a 2 pack of the P107 Battery 1.15 lb.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by goldeng26 Batteries are sufficient for around the house projects
My combo kit originally came with high capacity batteries and finally died after 4 years. Being the high caps are $100 each, I figured I try these first (2 for $100).
On a typical home project where I was using a standard drill (approx 3 hours), impact drill and a saw, these two batteries almost kept up, meaning with just the drills I could deplete one pack and have it charged before the other was depleted. Adding the saw in the mix with 10 cuts in 30 min, the batteries couldn't keep up (or I had to slow down). If I have a project where the saw is needed more than a few cuts, I'll likely buy a high capacity version to supplement these, but for 90-95% of my home projects, these are sufficient.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by detredwingsfan Work well, more power and longer life than NiCads.
I'm not sure why some people are having so many problems with their Ryobi Lithium batteries. I have 8 of all variety of Ryobi Lithium and every one works just fine. I use the Ryobi Lithium chargers and they recharge with no problem. The Ryobi Lithium batteries provide more power and last longer than even the best Ryobi NiCads that I have. They have turned some tools that were marginal on performance with NiCads into really useable tools. If you buy these Ryobi Lithium batteries, make sure you only charge them with the proper charger, never let them be completely discharged or that will ruin the battery.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by onlyoneway ryobi battery life
I have just about every 18v Ryobi tool. What a mistake. Batteries & chargers do not last more than 6 months to a year. Constantly spending a fortune to replace batteries.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Superhaole A little LI Ion info
Most of the reviews That I read which were negative were about people who bought these twin packs to replace their existing ONE PLUS Ni Cad batteries. Assuming they used the existing Ni Cad charger for recharge there may be an incompatibility with the Li Ion batteries. Li Ion batteries do not like to be overcharged and should not stay on an old charger that is not specifically designed for a Li Ion battery. I purposely purchased the Battery/charger kit for my first Li Ion conversion for this specific reason. Ryobi/Home Depot should provide positive information relative to this Li Ion characteristic in both their WEB information and on in-store packaging. If used properly the ONE PLUS tools work great.
