Warranty for Compact Battery P102

Hi. I purchased a couple of these batteries with a charger in a tool package last year. One of the batteries already reads defective when I put it in the charger. I haven't used it all that much, so it seems that it should not even be close to being used up yet. The life of this battery in months seems much less than even a NiCd one plus battery. Does it have any sort of warranty or replacement options?

Thanks.

I believe for maximum life and performance of the battery, it should only be charged when needed. Also, I purchased this battery with a certain budget in mind. Price wise, this battery was on the lower end of the pricing scale and suited my needs. For a 30 minute charge time, I tend to get at least 90 minutes of production out of the nailer. I have hardly ever use the tool more than an hour at a time, so the contrast in tools may not be a true gauge for this battery. Read Less

Rated 2.8 out of 5 by 146 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by They are unreliable I have gone through 2 of these batteries so far. The original one that came with my weed trimmer stopped working and would not hold a charge the year after buying it. I was told it was not covered. I bought a second replacement battery (this one in the picture) and the exact same thing happened. Plugged it in this spring to trim the edges and it wont charge. Brought it into one of the Ryobi warranty guys local and he said it went due to the circuit board most likely. Ryobi said it was under warranty and could confirm the date it was made but refused to cover it because I did not have the receipt of purchase. I refuse to spend money buying a new battery every year because they are made defective! Plus, they confirmed the battery manufacture date but still wont cover it. I am done with these. April 27, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Fail The first battery gave an erroras soon as I put it on the charger I returned it for a replacement and the replacement took a charge. I used it once and used when it needed a charge it gave the defective code again. I'll be returning it for another replacement. We'll see how that goes August 23, 2016

They quite talking a charge after a few months at best. I have replaced 4 of these and like other reviewers I will continue to take these back as soon as the quit. April 18, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Replaced original battery The original battery lasted over two years. The replacement was about half the cost of a new blower. So far, I am satisfied with the performance of the new battery. August 9, 2016
