I’ve typically opted for corded hand tools, under the assumption (due to past experiences) the battery life is less than desirable, the power is less than needed and cost is higher than reasonable. Fast forward to the 21st century … My kids gave me a “new” battery operated drill. I was skeptical, but quickly became a believer. After using the drill several times, demonstrating great battery life and all the torque I could reasonably handle, not to mention the absolute joy of not having to contend with an electrical cord tether, I thought … “anything that feels this good … I’ve just got to go all the way!” I purchased the super combo primarily due to the ‘package’ pricing, even though it would give me a second drill. Subsequently, I purchased an ‘impact’ drill and even got the 22in hedge trimmer. I can’t overstate how much easier my life (and yard work) is without having to deal with that pesky electrical extension cord!
The biggest advantage is the pure genius of a single battery which works in all these tools! And the package cost point(s) are manageable for us DIY’ers.
If there I could make a suggestion to Home Depot, it would be to allow a “custom” package offer where a customer could select more than one tool and HD provide a “package” price. There are several other tools I’d like to have, but to purchase each as a ‘standalone purchase’ gets to be a little pricey.

My friend had this bag of tools which he bought during a special for $129. He helped me on a couple projects. The Royobi tools worked great! I thought I should get them for myself.! I saw them on salie online for $129! When I finally got to the store they were now their everyday special price of $149. I thought well that's not that bad and a week later I went into the storeroom and low and behold the great daily price became $179! Well sadly that'just out of my reach. The tool set is really nice and they are tough medium duty tools. If you have $179 get them . If you're like me and you don't , well you can always dream and hope your buddy will come by with his.

I've had ryobi cordless tools from when they issued ni-cad batteries. I've put the cordless drill under some heavy use at times until the batteries wore out. Then I went to lithium ion batteries. Runs as strong as new. I decided to get the new set on sale since my old ryobi drill was suffering from clutch lockup under heavy use on a hot day. Actually I still use it plus the new one. Cordless saw is a godsend when needed. Versatility is great with my occasional projects. If you can't afford a $500-$600 set of cordless tools then buy this. The new lithium ion batteries get a full charge in as little as 15 minutes. You can't beat that at this price!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lucas Great tool pack for small backyard projects
The Drill has a variable speed drive with a clutch and two torque settings, I was able to drive a 3" screw into standard lumber on the low torque setting with no issues. The "sawzall" is also a variable speed, is lightweight, and has a very easy spring loaded blade lock to quickly change blades. The skill saw only has a 5" blade so it won't cut anything over 1 1/2" thick. The small batteries that come with the set won't give you more than a couple hours of work so you will definitely need to purchase a couple of the larger batteries as well if you plan on putting in a full days work.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by pnwjen It's priced lower for a reason
We purchased this set about one year ago mainly because I wanted a small, lightweight circular saw. This set was on sale at the time so we opted to buy it rather than just the saw.
The tools are fine for the occassional DIY'er. They lack the power you will get from a higher-end power tool. The reciprocating saw barely cuts through a 1 1/2" diameter tree branch. The flashlight works well. The drill is adequate for what I do, as is the circular saw. So far, the life-span of the battery is acceptable.
The WORST part about this is the battery charger. Mine quit working already and I had to pay $17 to get a new one. I wish I would have just purchased a better saw and not this entire set.

This set lets you take your creativity and imagination and put it into action, not to mention practical uses too! I love that everything is cordless, I can cut here and there without worrying about cords. The batteries seem to last for quite awhile and if not, they charge quickly. I have put both saws to the test and they have done great. The drill also gets the job done, quick fast and has a level on it as well for easy use. It also comes with a reversible bit so you're good to go. Great purchase, great product!!! I'm impressed and pleased.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by DIYHubbyandWife Good set, but should have gotten individual tools
I got this primarily for the skill saw and reciprocating saw. I kept running into issues with power cable management on my old saw and wanted to be cord-free, and this is much better! I worried about the power loss by switching to battery, but I haven't noticed any issues. The torque only drops when I need a re-charge, but its easy to swap and pick up where I left off.
The reciprocating saw has held up great for dry wall and stud demolition projects. The skill saw's blade is smaller than my old one, but it is plenty adequate for plywood, paneling, and occasional board rips. The portability is so nice that I've even started using the skill saw to slice up my palm tree fronds :)
The flashlight gave out within a month of use -- while I was up in my attic unfortunately. I did not appreciate that.
The drill does not have as good of power transfer as my other drills, so it never gets used. I believe it would make for a decent casual-use drill though.

I bought the 4-Piece to get the reciprocating saw, battery & charger. The other tools are gravy.
The batteries charge quickly and lasted through hours of rigorous limb cutting.
The grip of the drill is a diameter that is a bit large for a small hand to grip securely.
The flashlight is handy.
I have no idea when I'll need the circular saw.
