How many batteries with starter drill kit

Asked by: billflob
I got mine bundled with a 5.5-inch circular saw. The bundle came with one battery.

Does the drill have a REVERSE feature for removing screws?

I heard REVERSE is standard in power drills these days. The product description doesn't mention it, so I am wondering if it has that feature.

Yes, it comes with the P118 (relatively) slow charger that takes about 45 minutes to charge the included 1.3Ah P102 battery.

I wanted a cordless drill/driver for a big project that could not conveniently be relocated to within reach of an outlet or extension cord. I found this Ryobi item (actually, the drill I bought had a 1/2-inch chuck; otherwise it appears to be the same) at Home Depot bundled with a 5.5-inch cordless circular saw for an extra $20. Both tools are fabulous! I used the drill/driver for an entire afternoon to install heavy hardware on heavy wooden doors. It kept going to the end, never ran out of power, and drilled & drove everything perfectly. The chuck was very easy to use and the drill is lightweight enough that I didn't get tired out. (I'm 62 years old, 5'2" tall and have some arthritis in my hands.) I love that it had a level built in and a magnet to hold little screws or whatever. The circular saw is also wonderful. I'm terrified of my full-size circular saw and avoid using it as much as possible. This cute little guy was much lighter and easier, and less scary, to handle, and it cut through a couple of 1.5-inch-thick doors like nothing. Price extremely reasonable for what you're getting. Highly recommend both these products!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Needed a reliable power drill for my new condo... Just moved into my new condo, well new for me, since someone else lived there before. Still, there are numerous little projects that require a light, variable-speed drill. Hanging pictures and mirrors plus lots of bathroom and kitchen adjustments -- tighten, loosen, repair, or replace. This Ryobi drill is powerful enough for every job that I undertake. I just love it!

I am 67 and needed something to just do little things around my home. My husband's was too heavy for me to hold. This is lighter and easy to use. I love it.

I'm new to DIY, and bought it just in case since I'm a new homeowner. I bought a 31 drill and bit piece set to complement this drill. My first project was to replace a braking support beam for my bed-frame. I had Home Depot cut me the wood piece and, with the Ryobi, I was able to drill holes for nail anchors in the newly cut support beam. So far, worth the investment; hopefully it holds up well over time.

I discovered Ryobi almost by accident, as I bought their cordless vacuum after two disappointments with Shark and Dirt Devil. The Ryobi was $24.95, and I like that it uses removable batteries. That way, when the battery fails, you just get another battery, something you couldn't do with the others. In any case, I then bought a drill, recip saw, etc. I've been very happy with the Ryobi drill, it has plenty of power for drilling or for use with a circle saw. I drill a lot of steel, wood, etc, and have yet to have it not be completely up to the task. The work light is a nice touch. I do as some others have said, do not leave the charger plugged in when not in use, remove the batteries when charged, etc, and my batteries have lasted well over a year so far. I would recommend this drill, and have in fact bought some as gifts.

This Drill exceeded my expectations since it was so much cheaper than the "Premium" brands. It feels solid and has the necessary torque to drill using flat blade bits for larger holes. Cannot tell about battery life yet as I have not run the battery out of juice yet. Drilled several holes in a stump that I am grubbing out and the drill still has plenty of power. Recommend this product!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Last One Still Works After 15 Years Last Ryobi drill I bought over 15 years ago and have beat to death, and totally abused, still works, as does one of the batteries. The small radial saw I bought at same time lasted over 10 years after hundreds of hours of use and abuse. I expect this Ryobi to last forever. It's lighter weight, easier to handle, smaller and has as much or more torque.
