Yes Ryobi's One+ 18v Lithium-Ion batteries can be used with all Ryobi 18v One+ tools and give new power and life to the old NiCad power tools. The NiCad battery chargers will not charge the Lithium-Ion batteries, but the new Multi-element chargers can charge all One+ 18v batteries and can even rejuvenate the NiCads.

YES, as long as the voltage of the Li-ion battery matches the NiCad battery voltage-that is the critical thing. It depends on the brand. For Ryobi, Li-Ion and Ni-Cad are interchangeable as long as you buy the same voltage. For other brands, you will have to check the manufacture specs.

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 360 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Using these for years Years ago I bought the basic four tool set that was available at the time. Since then I added the driver. I also bought a tight quarter drill, hedge trimmer, and the 16 and 18 gauge airstrike nailers. This stuff just works and is versatile. I am seriously envious of you that now get the driver and multi-tool as part of the set. Unbelievable Value. I submitted a picture of my fireplace mantle, window trim and TV/speaker installation that I did using the Ryobi power tools. Only wish the picture looked as good as it does in real life. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent kit with quality tools! I was extremely happy with my purchase of the 6 tool kit. It includes pretty much everything you need for around the house work. The included impact drill is a dream compared to a screw gun, which still has its place and this kit provides. Used the sawzall to tear up some tree limbs and it had no problem. April 26, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by NO GOOD SO FAR I BOUGHT THIS KIT A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AGO TO DO SOME REPAIRS IN MY RV... I USED THE SAWS ALL FOR ABOUT ONE MINUTE TO CUT A COPPER PIPE... I USED THE FLASHLIGHT A FEW TIMES... THAT IS ALL I USED THE KIT FOR,BECAUSE I DEVELOPED SEVERE BACK PAIN AND I WAS UNABLE TO DO THE REPAIRS THAT I WANTED TO DO... NOW, BOTH BATTERIES WILL NOT CHARGE... I DO NOT KNOW IF THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE BATTERIES OR THE CHARGER... VERY DISAPPOINTED. September 4, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DO NOT BUY RYOBI 12V or 18V DRILLS HOME DEPOT !! Last year I replaced all my rechargable tools of different manufacturers with RYOBI .. 2 12v drills, 2 18V drills, 18v reciprocating saw, and two spare 18V batteries. In less than a year, with use maybe 1-2 times per month, ALL THE BATTERIES HAVE FAILED. AND HOME DEPOT WILL NOT NOT NOT STAND BEHIND THEM. I was told to "call Ryobi, we don't replace them" and Ryobi says "you have to have your original Home Depot receipts". Very kind HD lady tried to find them on her computer, but only found two. So, I'm pretty well screwed, with 4 Ryobi drills I can't use, as well as a Ryobi radio, hand lantern, and jig saw, all of which use the18v batteries, and all of mine are dead. I won't buy new batteries, that's just "throwing good money after bad". And Home Depot doesn't carry the 12v batteries anyway. Learn from my expensive lesson. Goodbye, Home Despot..... Never again. August 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Tremendous Set of Tools After using these tools for the past nine months I would not hesitate to buy them again! Awesome set and batteries seem to work well September 3, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Horrible Circular saw wouldn't even cut through a 2x4 and the batteries lasted like 5 min. September 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by What an upgrade! I got this set to replace a 10 year old Craftsman set. The tools are very high quality with numerous clever features (MagTray, auto-load on the impact driver, etc) . They are much lighter weight than what I had but are still high quality and durable. They have been able to handle everything I have thrown at them. The convenience of the One+ system is a major bonus as well. In my research, I have not been able to find such a quality set at this kind of price. Highly recommend! August 5, 2016
