I bought a set of RUOBI tools in 2007. All tools is OK, but I need a new battery. Can a new lithium battery be charged in the old RUOBI charger?

Asked by: EUGENE
You'll need two batteries and a charger. Lithium Ion batteries are smaller and, lighter but don't have longer run times.. Lithium Ion batteries don't need deep discharge and charge cycles to reach full capacity. They don't self discharge, especially if stored at 40 F; store Lithium Ion and NiCads removed from the tool and charger. Don't overcharge any battery.

I would not buy any of them for myself however mostly due to ridiculously poor battery life, even sitting in a drill that is switched off. I feel that charging them every day is WAY too much and falls way behind all of my Makita tools. Replacing batteries yearly is far too often as well but what do you do? Toss the old drills and start over?

This battery is very durable in terms of supplying all day power to my Ryobi fan or drill. Longevity of previous Ryobi ONE+ 18-Volt Ni-Cd Battery was about 4 years with proper re-charge method. Do not re-charge this battery until it is totally depleted, or it will develop a "memory" and longevity is reduced.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed The Ryobi 28V One + won't charge properly. I have kept in charging for 24 hrs and the indicator light remains red. Even when I used the drill, there is very little power. What is the problem?
