I've been fiddling around with the Ryobi cordless setup for ten years, and I'm out. I am tired of buying these batteries, it's like I don't own my tools, I'm just renting them. I've called the company a few times over the years and gotten advice on how to best charge them and store them to maximize their life. I've had unsatisfactory results with battery life even when I follow their advice carefully. When the batteries are strong the Ryobi equipment is pretty good. I own the flash light, the chain saw, circular saw, and small and large drill and a sander. But I am done with having to replace these Ni-Cd 18 volt inconsistent and unreliable batteries. I am shocked at how good the reviews are on this site for this set up. I am not going to risk going down this road with another line of cordless tools. My leson learned? Stick to corded. I'm dropping all of my cordless Ryobi tools off at a charity outlet and I feel sorry for whoever ends up with them.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by RednexToyz Upgrade to Li-Ion
I've gone thru well over a dozen of these in the past few years. Might get 1 year out of it depending on use, charge and length of storage. Recently upgraded to the new Li-Ion. Well worth the upgrade. I'd buy this as an economical spare or lite weekend handyman but not for exteded, daily use.
