It was very easy to assemble out of the box and does a great job. The first job it had was to work on my parent's hobby farm cutting dead branches off A LOT of trees. It works great - the only complaint I would have is that it can kill a battery pretty quickly. I had two batteries going though, using one while the other charged. Have to make sure if you are going to use it for long periods of time that you have 2-3 batteries.

Out of the box, just snap it together :o)
Does what it's supposed to do - cuts wood :o)
Not real heavy, until you use the extension pole. Then you will need to decrease the angle of approach or your arm will feel like it's going to drop off. Not a fault of design, just the law of gravity :o)
Battery lasts fairly long. I have two batteries, so it should handle my needs :o)
What is with the chain oiler? Oiler orifice is way to large, IMO. Makes a real mess. Maybe I'll try some 90 weight gear oil and see how that works :o(
All in all, a very handy addition to my other ONE+ implements. I have them all except for the 40 volt hand chainsaw.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jerry Best pole saw I found for $100
If you already have Ryobi One+ batteries like I did, and could use a pole saw/power pruner, get this one. Unless you are a groundskeeper or have tons of trees to trim, I don't think you can find anything to compare for the price. It is lightweight, easy to use, and seems well built. I have (had) about 20 Elm and White Ash trees that needed pruning, after being neglected for years, and this worked beautifully, for what it is. White Ash is very strong (wooden baseball bats are often Ash) and it chewed right through a couple 5" branches on those trees, and up to a 6" branch on the Elm.
This pole saw is a very well made homeowner's tool, at a reasonable price. If you are a groundskeeper, or pro user, you will want either a gas or plug-in model, as the runtime isn't that great. To be fair, all I have are the compact batteries, and they gave maybe 10 minutes of continuous cutting. On one project, I had a helper, so I could just go from branch to branch, and the battery died pretty quickly, and got pretty warm. The next day, I was working myself, cutting a branch or two, moving them out of the way, cutting another, and so on. This seems much more what the saw was designed for, as it seemed to run longer, and definitely ran cooler. I like that it comes in 3 sections, it gives you 2 usable lengths, and breaks down short enough to fit in a car trunk. Just wrap the bar in a rag, as the chain oiler seeps a little.
All in all, it worked very well, and had enough power not to bog the chain down, even in 5" ash branches.
One improvement I could think of, that I found in pro model saws I have used in the past, would be a little 'beak' sticking up at the end of the bar, to make undercutting easier. The way it is now, you turn the unit upside down, and cut from underneath, turn it over, and cut from the top. If you cut 1/4 to 1/3 of the way through from the bottom first, it all but eliminates the chances of pinching the chain. My other quibble is that the oil reservoir seeps even when not in use. If you spend the 30 seconds it takes to drain the bar oil back into the bottle, it only leaks a few drops, though. All in all, very satisfied for the price.
Pros: Price/value, easy to set up, easy to use, surprising power, uses batteries I already had, breaks down into a relatively compact size. Seems well made. The tool required for assembly, chain adjustment/replacement, and bar replacement is included, as is a starter bottle of bar oil, and a slip-on cover for the bar/chain. No engine to pull start, no gas/oil to mix. Just plug in a battery and go.
Cons: Short runtime with compact batteries, a little awkward to make undercuts, and it can leak bar oil.
If it holds up long-term, it will be one of my better buys.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ross Cordless Pole Saw - very handy tool
We used this cordless pole saw and it was able to cut tree limbs that are high and would be inaccessible without the long arms. The branches which are about 3 or more inches thick are easily cut in seconds. The long arms prevents us from injury and scratches from the trees thorny branches. The battery operated allows us to take it anywhere with no power and after cutting some branches, it did not even dented the remaining power on my lithium ion battery. Good product, I just wish that there is an option of a longer blade to cut even thicker tree limbs.

The saw works great. I bought a house with 12 overgrown trees. This saw has paid for itself multiple times already. I am pushing the saw past it is recommended capability and it has kept up. Keep it oiled. The chain oil provided doesn't last very long. I clean and oil it after each use.
Also, if it isn't cutting properly, make sure the chain is on the right way. (I accidentally put it on backwards after cleaning once).

The trimmer was really easy to assemble. Owning multiple "One+Plus" tools already, it was a breeze to use. My wife also found it easy to use. Only negative - wish it was longer.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by idrift Wow this little sucker cuts
I have to say I more or less bought this as another toy to add to the list.
Others have complained about the tension pin and its poor design.
I'm a mechanical engineer so the first thing I did was take it all apart
planning on making a metal pin. Well, Ryobi beat me to it. It's already
been replaced with a metal design. They must have listened to the
customers and taken care of it right away. Great job Ryobi!
I only used this once so far but was amazed at its cutting power and
quick efficient job with branches. It seems to draw little power to do
the job as well. If you've been waiting and hesitating to buy this, don't.
You will be really happy once you try it!
