Customer Reviews

One+ 18-Volt Cordless Pruner-DISCONTINUED is rated 2.5 out of 5 by 30.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good if you want to annoy your trees/shrubs Don't know what Ryobi was thinking. Seemed like a great idea, essentially a pruning saw that would take the work out of pruning larger branches. Also could work in tighter spaces than a chain saw. Except it doesn't work at all. Apparently, the stroke is so short that a single tooth vibrates the branch back and forth without ever actually cutting. I compared it on a 2" limb to a simple bow saw. The bow saw cut the limb in perhaps 5 seconds, the Ryobi took 15 seconds and I had to hold the limb steady with my other hand right next to the blade. Not exactly the safest cutting technique. It would be nice if someone brought out a tool like this with a long enough stroke to be useful- this isn't it. Back to HD.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Save Your Money You can buy a 9 inch pruning blade for your reciprocating saw for $5.00 and it will work better. 12 inch is $7.00

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This is not well designed for pruning; don't waste your time and money. This is simply a reciprocating saw. The blade does not handle the wet wood debris well; it should have fewer and larger teeth to cut through branches like a hand pruning saw. Also the oscillation speed is WAY too fast for pruning. And is not variable - it is "on full" or "off". It is hard to control and prevent the branch from moving. Very difficult to cut with. I'll use my trusty Corona hand saw. I'm very disappointed with this purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from BAD-CAN'T DO THE JOB It is described as shrub pruner on the carton....can't do the job. Tried to prune dead honeysuckle and wouldn't even begin to do the job. It is going back to Home Depot ASAP.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty good tool for under $40 I found this tool to be very effective at cutting branches up to 3 1/2 inches thick. I cut 3 truckloads on a single charge. The tool was not very effective on thin branches. I had to hold the thin branches while cutting, which is not advisable. However, on thicker branches the tool worked great. I used a back and forth motion (like a hand saw) and had no problems at all. I am a bit surprised that others have found the tool to be so ineffective.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from this product is a great value Works great with a freshly charged battery not so good with a weak battery it Will just vibrate the item you are trying to cut if your battery is weak I bought it instead of the reciprocating saw ryobi sells in this series for a bit more money. And the rpms are also a little better on this than their saw. You can use any recip. saw blade and change them in under 5 seconds... I used it to cut pallets and branches multi use tool ..over all I am satisfied with my purchase

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This is NOT a chainsaw at all I got this because it was advertised as a Chainsaw/Pruner. It is very disappointing as it turns out to be only a single speed reciprocating saw. If I had wanted one of those, I would have bought one that had variable speed. Before I blame this on Ryobi, I must point out that when the package arrived, the Ryobi words only state that it is a Pruner.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for Earlier today I bought this product to go along with the other Ryobi 18v products. I have been happy with the trimmer, chain saw, and leaf blower. Well I knew I was in trouble when it took me and my girlfriend over 30 minutes to get it out of the packaging. Then the fun began. Just refer to the other bad reviews instead of saying again what was already said. Just very unhappy with it and I was doing light yard work. If I had th packaging I would have tried to return it but that was destroyed while getting the tool out. I should have read the reviews before purchasing. BAD
