PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Engineered to outperform predecessors, the 18 volt LITHIUM+ battery is the workhorse in this drill/driver kit from RYOBI. You get not one, but two, compact lithium-ion batteries in this ONE+ bundle, each of which has an illuminated charge indicator so you know when it’s time to re-energize. These battery packs run longer and weigh less than NiCd batteries, and won’t succumb to drainage when idle. The 18 volt drill/driver weighs only 2.7 lbs. and has a new-and-improved GripZone overmold handle for superior comfort and grip. Choose from one of 24 torque options on the clutch and engage this 1/2 in. device with the variable-speed trigger in one of two settings (0-440 or 0-1600 RPM).

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 109 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Package is great value This market is pretty saturated, which is great for consumers. I reached twice for the Makita, but just couldn't justify the price for my needs. After some help from the Home Depot kid, I had the drill + two LiOn battery kit. I lamented that the batteries were not the Plus version, but still thought it was a great value. As I was heading toward the register, I happened upon THIS kit on an end cap display. Same drill and charger, but the two batteries were the LithiumPlus kind.... For the same $129! Done and done. Drill is comfy, has plenty of torque, and appeared the sip the battery during the first project I used it on. The little magnetic tray on the base is extremely handy; I can get used to this. My only minor letdown is that the light is on/off with the trigger. Other drills I've used leave the light illuminated for a few seconds after releasing the trigger. April 14, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Lightweight Drill This is an excellent tool. Having a bad back, I've been limited to lightweight cord drills. This cordless drill was the first i've been able to lift and use. Works very well and the reverse switch is in a comfortable position for quick one hand operation. A friend used it to build me a deck and staircase and told me it was the best tool I've ever bought. I have to agree. Thanks RYOBI. April 30, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Purchase Pros-Great battery which battery works in dozens of Ryobi tools; great power; quick chuck. Cons- as others mentioned, the light is nearly worthless, but then I didn't have one on my old drills so I was not used to having one. / Minor issue: There are two speeds on the drill labeled 1 & 2 which doesn't tell me much. I used a marker to label them "slow" and "fast" which made more sense. I previously owned 2 Craftsman drills (14.4 and 16.8 volt) (both NMh). I was very dissatisfied with the length of time the drill held a charge. So I decided to go with this LiIon drill because the "plus" batteries came with it. I have had the drill about 6 weeks and already used it for about a dozen small projects which included driving screws into solid wood and drilling holes in joists to run electrical cable (a task I previously limited to my corded drill). After 6 weeks and a dozen projects, the first battery is down to 25%. With plenty of power and a 1/2 hour charger included it is a great drill. What was even better, after looking around for 6 weeks, and I finally decided to get this drill; the price had just dropped by $30. April 6, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Value I have a Dewalt cordless drill with NIMH batteries that is about 5 years old and the batteries are no longer holding a charge for very long. This drill was a good price ($99) and comes with two Lithium plus batteries so it made more sense to replace the Dewalt with this Ryobi then buy two new batteries for it. The Ryobi is lighter than the Dewalt and the batteries charge fast (about 30 minutes to fully charge) and the charge lasts a long time. The Ryobi is light and has a comfortable grip. The magnetized tray is a nice touch and the switch to change directions is easily accessed. I also like the carrying bag which is large enough to hold the drill, two batteries (and charger) and other accessories like a driver kit and screws. I don't know how durable the Ryobi will prove to be but it should suffice for my DIY needs. April 22, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by UPDATE: "Poor Quality control" (but FANTASTIC customer service) I posted a couple weeks back about what I thought (at the time) was poor quality control that led to my new drill's chuck falling out of the drill housing, as if had never been assembled properly at the factory. Well, that -may- have been a rare instance of quality control but I did want to make two important updates to my previous review: 1) Home Depot has a great return policy and I was able to exchange for another unit (same model) that has been working perfectly and is (now) a quality product 2) Ryobi's parent company (TTi) has fantastic customer support! I was contacted by a rep who had read my review here and he asked for more details about the unit so they could track down why it left the factory broken. He even followed up a week later to get the store information and apologize for the inconvenience. I'm very impressed with Ryobi/TTi's customer service in this regard. Kudos to them! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect tool for the price Worked almost straight out of the box. After just 30 minutes of charging it was ready to go. Very happy with it and will buy many more from this manufacturer since i already have the batteries now April 28, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Drill Ever This drill is great! It has a great feel in hands for females, males and even my teenage sons. Adjustable torque and ability to go slow makes it user friendly for any project. Not to heavy to hold, which was one of my concerns as a female with weak wrists. My husband even admits he likes it better than his big macho electric drill. The One+ batteries make it super convenient because you can switch them out with other Ryobi tools. Batteries have a charge light that tell you how much charge they have so you are never left with a dead battery in the middle of a project. I would definitely recommend this drill to EVERYONE! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by An Upgrade Bought this as an upgrade from a friend advise, and I am very pleased. HD was running a sale on the bigger batteries 2 for the price of 1. It came with a 30 minute charger and the small batteries take 30 minutes and the bigger batteries take 60 minutes. nice carrying case to boot. This afternoon I replaced 2 board on my deck 32 screws 3 inches out and 32 screws 3 inches in. From the battery gauge No discharge. May 22, 2014
