Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GREAT for a booth in a festival! I come from museum art world and Im one of those cool people in a booth at art festivals - which typically have no electricity. I'm always flooded with people and to be cooler, and not soaking in sweat on 95 degree humid mid-atlantic days, i got two of these fans! the light breeze they provide on low setting last for the quoted 10 hours easily!!!! that shocked me. I haven't tried the high setting because i'd rather have low setting all day than run out the battery in a few hours and be stuck sweltering. I"m going to do a test run at home with the high setting to see how long it lasts but reports online say about 3 or 4 hours it seems. which is great if you'd like the higher speed for a shorter time. overall, for outdoor events, cookouts... or art world festivals... where electricity is limited. these are AWESOME! I'm thinking about getting two more. for a booth setting, they're totally worth it! even with buying more expensive batteries - they are worth it. June 25, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Dog Cooling Fan I bought this Ryobi 18V fan to help keep my two dogs cool while they are crated at Dog Agility Trials. Some trial venues are not air-conditioned and provide no AC power for fans or coolers but this fan moves plenty of air to help keep them comfortable between runs. It easily runs 3+ hours on the 'hi' setting with a fully charged battery and will run all day on the 'low' setting. The Ryobi fan will sit on any reasonably flat surface and the angle of airflow is adjustable from about 30 degrees blowing over the top of the dog crates to a straight-up 90 degrees blowing right on them. In addition the 'j-hook' on the top of the fan can be used to hang it onto the side of a wire pen, or fence. This fan works very well for my needs and I'm extremly satisfied with it. March 30, 2007
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Camping Fan Banged around camping and in garage, The fan still works. Through the torture it now has a slight blade rub but with the "Big Boy Batteries" it still runs all night in the wilderness. Since the price drop it has become a decent value for what it was intended. This is my second fan, the other did not survive being driven over by my SUV. January 28, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great velocity! I was so glad when these fans became available. I bought two of them to use when I take my dogs to agility trials. They have tons of air flow!! And, they are very quiet. I bought 4 of the nickel cadmium batteries (too many of the reviews on the more expensive lithium-ion batteries scared me off) and that has been plenty, so far, to keep the fans going all day. If I have a complaint, it is that the batteries are extremely difficult to remove from the fan. I think there may be a trick that I have not yet learned! June 19, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Blew me away I bought this on a whim and thought it might be useful during camping. I've used it plenty while working in the garage as I was doing work with resin, in the house to blow smoke from burnt toast, and did ok blowing saw dust while using a jigsaw. You can't beat it for the price and would recommend anyone with Ryobi batteries to purchase. January 11, 2015
