Power Groove Countersink Set (5-Piece) is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 44.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from poor design Bought these for the obvious purpose of countersinking. Quickly found the countersink portion not sharp enough. Just spins and smokes in the hole. After the same results with all sizes and about 40 test holes, confirmed. Low quality. Returned to store for refund.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Save your money and time. These bits do not cut at the countersink. When used in hardwood, they just burn-will not cut. I'm returning them to the store.

In looking for a countersink bit, found this set at Home Depot. I was excited to break the package open to try them out as I hadn't seen anything like this in Canada. I was so disappointed in it's performance. The whole set wasn't worth the money spent on them. They tend to clog up while being used, the drill bit attachment to the body doesn't discard the drilled wood chip away so they do not countersink properly. It certainly was a waste of my money. Fortunately, Ryobi has discontinued this product as it would have disappointed many people in it's performance. Thanks for listening to my rant.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Quality, Shouldn't be on the shelf I bought these countersink bits in a pinch for some pullout kitchen shelves I was building. I managed to drill 4 holes before the bit snapped clean in half. In an effort to finish the project I swapped out the drill bit and put one of my own into the countersink attachment. That's when I noticed how dull and useless the countersink bit was. Required a lot of pressure to produce any results and as other reviews have noted only works from more of a grinding action than cutting. I'm returning these immediately! Seriously Home Depot these shouldn't even be stocked.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not good! This might work with plywood, but if you're planning to use it on hardwood - don't bother. The countersink doesn't cut into the wood easily. I tried this on Maple, Cherry, and Oak and it simply didn't cut into the wood without a lot of force, and then just barely. I already threw this in the garbage.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok, not great Good for occasional use but not recomended for projects that require mumerous holes. I have used on both soft and hard woods. They work good on shallow countersinks but really load up and burn on deeper countersinks where you intend to use a plug to cover the screw head. It's a typical Ryobi product .... ok, not great.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lack of cutting edge on Ryobi countersink drill bit set I left my usual set at one of my childrens homes recently. I am finishing building a Baby Cradle in my shop at home and needed to apply the countersunk fasteners. While at Home Depot recently I picked up the Ryobi 5 pc set to use yesterday on the 5/8" white oak work piece's. From the first cut, using the #10 for a3/8" plug, I had to absolutely put my entire shoulder into the drill to aquire the hole. I continually cleared the bit as I drilled but all I really accomplished was to fill the shop with the smell of burnt wood and a comperable amount of smoke! I could not believe the difficulty using these cutters! Tried the #8 on a scrap workpiece- same smoke! I turned to my 25yr. old single piece flat cutters with no problem so it wasn't the solid white oak material. The Ryobi 5pc set is going back to the refund line.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from okay but troublesome to set When the bits work, they work well. However, they are a little troublesome to set for depth and on more than one occasion, the allen nut would slip and the bit would come out regardless of how hard I tried to tighten it. In fact, trying to tighten it harder just made the allen wrench slip out of the nut.
