Answer:
Kathy,
That is our older version of the tool. I would recommend our newer tool which is more powerful and still only 7.3 lbs.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A great product for very good price. This reciprocating saw is a great product for very good price. I used it for many hours, and it works like a champ; never had a problem. March 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Has the power to get the job done! This is my second Reciprocating Say by Ryobi, but the first time i went with reconditioned. It's just as powerful as new. I cut up steel tubing for automotive construction...as well as deconstruction of cars...and with the right blade i have found extreme dependability in handling and cutting through the metals which are usually two to three sheets thick. It got it fast enough to be able to plan out my next project without loosing time. July 27, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Two thumbs down Lasted two months before the pull back for the blade insert snapped. Cheap construction. Difficult to insert blade July 27, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Inexpensive, easy to use A tree was uprooted in my yard during Superstorm Sandy and the stump was stuck in my fence. After cutting most of the tree with a chainsaw I purchased for this specific job, I needed to cut through some remaining roots that were holding the stump firmly in the ground. The fence was in the way and made it difficult to use a regular saw or pruning blade. So I purchased this reciprocating saw because I did not want to spend a lot of money and I would probably never have any use for it or the chainsaw ever again. I was able to get to the roots that were stuck around the fence to free up the stump. And presto! This saw was well worth the minimal expense. It came with two small blades but I purchased a 9" blade. The blade was easy to attach and the saw was very easy to handle. April 7, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cheap and works great I've used this saw to demo about six walls for my home remodel. Goes through studs like butter. The blade it comes with is not great. Definitely get a better blade, as this makes a huge difference in performance. I also sliced up a metal bathtub with ease, though of course you need a metal cutting blade for that. April 3, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good recip for the money Good saw for the cost. At the price I paid for the unit it was worth it. Don't have a lot of need for it at present outside of trimming small trees or other odd jobs. If/when it breaks I will step up to a better quality one. The unit comes with a soft case which is fine. The blades that come with the unit are a joke so just throw them away. Only gripe about the unit itself is that there was still sawdust in it from the previous owner. You can't even clean that our with some compressed air? Two cons though as mentioned by others: high vibration and blade change mechanism will likely break. The unit has one of the longest strokes of recips on the market which means it also vibrates much more than most. Not really suitable for long term use. The blade release latch needs to be pulled all the way up to change the blade. It will likely break after numerous blade changes. September 6, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good deal on a solid sawzall I bought a "reconditioned" saw, and for the money, I'd say this was a very good deal. Has all the power I need, nice adjustable speed feature. Now, there's a little plastic tab that you have to lift to change blades, which feels kinda flimsy to me. Not sure if these are prone to breaking, but so far mine has worked well enough. I'm definitely satisfied with this purchase. April 30, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by amazing for the price i was a little iffy about purchasing this sawzall due to how cheap it was... but im not a rich person and was in despret need for one so i gave it a shot! it works GREAT!!!! 6diff speeds makes all the diffrence put it at 6 and its too powerful lol thanks ryobi October 8, 2013
